All I See [Remus Lupin X Reader]

Ten.

Remus's POV

(Y/N) looked up at me and the longer she stared, the more nervous I began to feel. She casually shifted on the balls of her feet and knotted her fingers together as she briefly looked down at the floor.

'Would you like to go and sit by the tree... with me?' She mumbled as she looked up at me again. I promptly nodded and smiled at her.

'Yes. That would be nice.' I said casually, although my insides were doing somersaults. She smiled and then walked past me to head over to the tree.

'Remus!' James exclaimed as he put his hands on my shoulders 'I think you could be in there.'

'Leave him James. She just wants to make friends.' Lily snapped. James sighed and let go of my shoulders. I nodded at the pair of them, my mouth too dry to utter a word then I followed (Y/N) over to the tree.

I sat down beside her and she stretched her legs out as I rested my back against the tree 'I feel like something is going to happen to stop us from talking again.' I chuckled, trying to make light of the feeling but inside I was nervous down to my core.

'I know, me too. Something always happen.' (Y/N) said 'Maybe we're not meant to talk to each other and that's why something always happens.'

My heart sank at her words. She looked at me with a fretful look and must have noticed my expression drop.

'Oh no... I didn't mean it in a bad way.' She blurted out 'I just meant because we haven't been able to speak properly, it feels like something is stopping us.'

Even after her explanation, I wasn't sure how her comment made me feel. All I knew was that, I hoped what she was saying wasn't true.

'Like some sort of dark magic or something?' I questioned. She shrugged and laughed.

'Or someone we know has used their inner eye to see something in our futures, and are now trying to stop us from spending time together' She chuckled. I, on the other hand, didn't find her comment funny. If she knew what I was then maybe she'd feel the same way. This apparent feeling of not talking or whatever might actually been a reality for her and not some silly theory.

Your POV

You chuckled but soon stopped as you realised that Remus hadn't even cracked a smile.

'Have I upset you again?' You asked. He paused for a moment, before he shook his head.

'No you haven't.' He explained. You felt a creeping sense of awkwardness overcome you as he offered you no other explanation. From where you were sitting, you obviously had upset or offended him in some sort of way. Or maybe, he just didn't find you funny. Which made you feel even more awkward.

You watched him as he casually picked strands of grass from the floor. Looking at him now, under the scorching rays of the sun, you noticed how attractive he was. His hair was a stunning combination of blonde and brown under the glow of the sun. His eyes were a stunning green that reminded you of fresh grass in the summer months. He was picture perfect and you were awe-struck you were even sat next to him.

'How are you finding the school year so far?' You asked. Remus shrugged and looked up at you.

'It's been okay. You know the usual stuff to start the year. It all gets a little bit tedious to start with until you get into the swing of things.' He said. You nodded and another awkward silence froze the conversation and Remus continued to pick at the grass beside him.

'What ab-' Before you could finish what you were about to say, Remus jumped up from his position on the grass and strode away. you watched him as James and Sirius, looked at him, looked over at you and then quickly followed him as he continued to walk away.

You sat in complete disbelief as you watched him disappear with James and Sirius in the distance. You just about noticed Lily walking up to you, but before she could reach you, you got up and walked the other way. You broke out into a run and tears streamed down your cheeks as you ran back up to the castle.
