Your legs trembled as you boarded the Hogwarts Express. It was your 5th year at Hogwarts and the first day of term never got any easier for you. During your time at Hogwarts, you'd only made one friend, if you could even call her that. You'd had a few classes together last year and she was the only person to speak to you. Her name was Lily and she was the complete opposite to you. She was out-going, confident and popular. You, on the other hand, wouldn't say boo to a goose.

With your luggage in hand you walked past carriages full of students. You overheard several conversations about how excited students were to start another year, it made your heart sink. You never had the courage to sit down and talk to anybody on the train. Instead, you found an empty carriage at the end like usual.

Putting your bag in the overhead compartment, you swiftly pulled out a book from the front pocket and sat down to read it.

You'd just finished the first page of your book when your carriage door opened. You looked up to see a boy with sandy coloured hair staring sheepishly at you.

'Oh... I'm sorry. I'll go and sit somewhere else' He mumbled, an awkward smile on his face. You stared silently at him as he turned around to leave.

'No' You said. He turned around and his forest green eyes locked with yours 'Nobody else will sit in here.'

The boy nodded politely and sat down opposite you. You tried to continue reading but found yourself too distracted by the mysterious boy opposite you. He looked around your age, but you didn't recognise him. Maybe he was new. Although you barely knew anyone at Hogwarts, so it was highly likely you'd never crossed paths or just never noticed him.

'That's a good book' The boy said. You looked up at him. He smiled, and you felt your heart skip a beat.

'I've read it a few times. It's one of my favourites' the boy smiled and you couldn't tell if he was just being polite or laughing at you.

'Me too. I've learnt a lot from it' he said. You could feel your cheeks blush more with every word he spoke.

'Do you like books?' You asked. He laughed and once again you couldn't tell if he was laughing for the right or wrong reasons.

'Yes, I do. I read a lot. Do you?' He said. You nodded, and he smiled. This time, it seemed genuine.

'What year are you in?' He asked.

'5th' You smiled, and the boy's eyes widened.

'Me too' He replied. He was in the same year as you. So why didn't you recognise him?

'What house are you in?' You asked.

'Gryffindor' He said. You gasped. He was even in the same house as you.

'So am I' You replied. The boys mouth dropped open and he widened his eyes again.

'I'm sorry but I don't recognise you at all' he said. You smiled slightly at him.

'Don't apologise. Nobody does' You said. The boy just stared at you, and you felt your cheeks redden under his watchful gaze.

Before either of you got the chance to speak again, the carriage door opened, and two boys stumbled in. One with curly black hair and the other with short brown hair and glasses. You knew who they were.

'Come on Moony, my friend' The curly haired boy called Sirius said, 'Our carriage is at the front' Moony? What sort of name was that? You thought as you watched Moony roll his eyes and get up.

He stood up and looked down at you like he was about to say something. But as he did, Sirius grabbed his arm and pulled him half way out of the carriage.

'Come on Moony! We're going to miss the trolley if you don't hurry up!' Sirius said. Giving you a slight smile, the boy was then pulled down the hallway and out of sight.

You sighed and got up to shut the carriage door. Your mind consumed with the thought of the sandy coloured haired boy, and if you'd ever see him again.
