Fourteen.

Remus's POV

I gently swayed my legs around in the cool water of the lake, a feeling of complete happiness and contentment consuming my body.

'Aren't you scared that somethings going to come along and bite you or something?' (Y/N) said as she wrapped her arms around her legs.

'No, not really. There's not much in this lake that would scare me.' I said. (Y/N) laughed slightly and I felt my cheeks burn.

'Not scared of anything, are you?' She said playfully. I awkwardly shook my head.

'I didn't mean it like that. I...I...Things like that don't frighten me.' I explained 'If anything, the creatures of our world fascinate me.'

'Even werewolves and beasts like that?' She asked teasingly. My heart dropped down to my stomach and I tried to hide the look of absolute horror I was feeling.

'Err.. Not, not so much.' I mumbled. (Y/N) furrowed her brow as she stared at me. I smiled slightly at her but it didn't seem to reassure her.

'What' wrong? Is it something I said?' She said. I shook my head and began to pick strands of grass from the floor.

'I'm okay.' I said. Unexpectedly, I felt (Y/N) lightly slap my arm. I looked up at her and her (E/C) eyes were gazing intensely at me, to the point where a knot started to form in the pit of my stomach.

'There's something mysterious about you, Remus Lupin.' (Y/N) said 'You're not like any other boy I've met before.' I couldn't help but laugh slightly.

'That's because I'm not.' He said. (Y/N) smiled and cocked her head to one side.

'I know and that's why I like you.' She said. A feeling of complete and utter overwhelming happiness once again consumed my body as she looked at me. She liked me, she actually said it.

'I like you too.' I said.

Your POV

Your smile grew wider as Remus said the words back. He liked you too. The first person to ever tell you they liked you. Remus Lupin liked you.

'This is strange.' He said, smiling slightly.

'Why?' You asked. He shrugged and carried on picking strands of grass from the floor.

'It just is. This is all new to me.' He said. You smiled slightly and placed your hand over his. He froze for a second and slowly looked up at you.

'And me' You said 'I just want to spend time with you and get to know you more.'

Remus smiled and gently squeezed your hand. Remus then looked over to a group of students making their way down to the lake.

'I should probably head back to the castle. It's around this time I meet the others.' Remus explained. You couldn't help but show a look of disappointment on your face. Being down here with Remus, you felt as though you were in your own world. But you knew sooner or later, you'd have to go your separate ways and go back to your normal lives.

'This could be our spot.' You said, as Remus casually got up and smoothed down his robe.

'It is ours' Remus said, an affectionate smile on his face 'Not many people come round this part of the lake.'

'How do you know that?' You asked as you stood up and the two of you began to walk back up to the castle.

'Because I come here a lot on my own. I rarely ever see anyone down here.' He explained.

'Well now you don't have to be on your own anymore.' You said. Remus smiled affectionately at you.

'No, I don't.' He said. And in that moment, your heart could have burst. You'd finally got your time with Remus Lupin.
