Blessing

We are sitting at the dining table having our dinner. Si Lola ay nasa center sa kaliwa nito ay si Celine na katabi ni Silver. As usual.

Tahimik at Hiyang-hiya ako na iangat ang aking mukha dahil alam kong kapag ginawa ko 'yon ay makikita ko kaagad ang mukha niya. Sa pagkain ang tuom ko habang pinapakinggan ang pag-uusap nila.

It was clear to my memory what happened at the stairs awhile ago. It was my first time and I didn't know how to respond. My hands were automatically encircled on his neck and I was scared if I was doing it wrong at kung tama ba na nilagay ko 'yon sa balikat niya? 

My heart was still beating dramatically leaving my whole body felt numb a little bit.

Ang kinakatakot ko lang ay baka may nakakita sa amin. We look probably craving for each other then to think na di naman kami nakikita ng ganoon ka-close.

But... everyone seems have no idea. Kahit pa ang kasambahay ay tahimik lang din.

"Apo your lips are very red. Did someone bite it?"

"P-po?!" Namilog ang mata kong napatingin sa gawi ni Lola. She was serious sipping her mushroom soup while staring at me. I don't know if I'm supposed to answer her question.

Natapon ng kaunti ang soup sa gulat ko. Fortunately it was covered by napkin. Dinaluhan ako ng kasambahay at aakmang papalitan ang bowl ko ngunit di na ako pumayag. Marami pa naman ang natira. Masasayang lang kung itatapon.

Silver was busy with her phone but there was a hint of smile in his lips. Then his eyes shifted to me which makes me startled. Shit! I bit my lower lip to hide my smile.

Magtutuos tayo mamaya! How could you do this to me?!

Natuon ang pansin ko sa babaeng nasa harap ko. She looks irritated the reason why my smile fades. I figured out that she was visible when she saw something she hates. And that's me. Well... I don't care then. Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay at pinagpatuloy na lang ang aking dinner.

The desserts came in and it was leche flan one of my favorites. Nilagyan kami sa aming platito. Lola looks happy dahil ngayon na lang ulit siyang nakatikim.

"Dahan-dahan lang po lola." I told her while I slid my hands on her.

"A small bite will do nothing, apo. I can't believed you!" Lola chuckled as what I have said.

Napapailing na lang ako sa inasta ni lola. Pansin ko ang madalas na pagka-irita niya. Hindi ko malaman kung sa trabaho ba or dahil tumatanda na siya. I will choose the latter then. Kahit masakit sa akin ay alam kong humihina na siya. I realized that she is not the lola used to be happy at all times. Most of the times she was serious and focus at laging may hinahanap.

"Nga naman, Chacha. Small bite won't cause bad to senyora." Sabat sa usapan ni Celine. She was smiling wide. Parang hindi halatang kagagaling sa inis.

Bakit kasi sumasabat ang mga tao sa conversation hindi naman sila kasali?

"Marcus can you airdrop my photos on your cellphone?" Flirtatious she said.

Silver nodded and handed her phone towards Celine.

"Thank you." She was then scanning through his phones. Tumagal siya doon.

"You both look together. I just can't understand why you both cancelled the engagement."

"It's my choice to cancel the engagement senyora." Si Silver.

"Why is that so?"

"Because I just—"

"Done! Nalipat ko na sa phone ko Marcus. Thank you very much again." Celine on her high pitched tone.
