Chapter 12

"Oh hello dear." It was Lauren that answered the door.

"Hey." I said shyly as I walked in and gave her a hug. Just then Ash came around the corner, with a cookie in his hand.

"Hey JenJen." He said with a grin on his face.

"Hey AshAsh." I answered back. He leaned down and pecked me on the lips. I stared up at him and shook my head.

"What?" He asked, taking a bite of his cookie.

"Are you ever not hungry?" I asked, holding back laughter.

"Nope." He said, finishing the cookie. "Plus they just came out of the oven, so I had to get one."

I chuckled a little. "What kind?" I asked.

"Chocolate Chip." He answered.

"Ooo my favorite!" I said back with a smile on my face. Ashton showed me his room, so I could but my bag up.

"Where's the rest of the family?" I asked as we made our way to the living room.

"They are out of town. Well mom and dad and the young ones are. They're visiting some family. And then Sky, well she is still working. She'll be back soon."

I nodded. "I see." I sat on the couch like earlier, but this time Ash sat down next to me. "So, whatcha wanna do?" He asked, looking down at me.

I shrugged. "I don't know whatever you wanna do." I replied, looking up at him.

He sighed. "Hmmm...wanna watch a movie? We don't actually have to watch it." He said with a wink. I started blushing. The butterflies invaded my stomach again.

"Okay." I said, trying to not sound so nervous. Why am I still nervous? It was stupid. It has been almost a month since he asked me out. Snap out of it Jennifer. This is what couples do! That's right, this is what couples do. I shook my head to clear it.

Ash went to the kitchen to grab the plate of cookies, and then popped the movie in.

"What are we going to 'watch'?" I asked, while doing the quote-on-quotes with my fingers when I said watch. He smirked as he turned and stalked towards me. He stood in front of me then bent forward, putting both his hands on the back of the couch. His face was less than inches from mine, that when he spoke, his lips brushed mine.

"A scary movie." He replied.

"What scary movie?" I whispered back. Man I wanted to kiss him so bad. Was he taunting me like this on purpose?

"Oh nothing, just an old one. It's pretty boring actually. It's just one of those Halloween movies." I stuck my tongue out, which touched his bottom lip a little.

I quickly put it back in my mouth then said, "Oh, yah. Those movies suck!"

He smirked. "Exactly." And then he closed the distance.

We pulled away then Ash moved to sit next to me again. I turned my body towards him. He moved a strand of my hair away from my face and tucked it behind my right ear.

"You are so beautiful." He said smiling, and staring into my eyes.

I smiled in return and felt the warmth come back to my cheeks. "Thanks." I said, looking down. He moved his right hand under my chin and lifted it up, so I was looking at him.
