After Ash got a note from his teacher, we headed outside to the nearest benches. The weather was amazing. It was in the high 70's and there was a nice light breeze. The sun showed bright in the sky. I could hear the birds chirping.

My attention was pulled away from nature when someone touched my hand. I looked down and saw mine interlocked with his. Oh my gosh! Ashton Smith was holding my hand! EEEP! I looked up at him and did a shy smile. The butterflies were growing and my heart was pounding. I started doubting if this was real or not. I sneakily pinched my leg, proving that it was reality. I blushed at the thought.

When we approached the bench, I was surprised yet again. I was about to sit down when Ash pulled my hand and shook his head. I looked at him with a confused expression, but he just smirked. He put our bags on the bench where my butt would've gone, and then he sat down next to them, pulling me sideways onto his lap. He let go of my hand and wrapped his arms around my waist. I was comfortable, being here in his arms. If only I could pause time for just a little bit...or a day...or two. I was at a loss for words. I stared up at him as I felt my cheeks getting hot. I really need to learn to stop blushing so much. It's embarrassing. We stared at each other for a few minutes and then he put one of his hands on my cheek. He smiled softly.

"What?" I asked as he rubbed my cheek with his thumb.

"Oh nothing." he shook his head and chuckled. "You just look so cute when you blush." That made me blush even more. I looked away biting my lip. He turned my head back to him and we stared at each other. "Don't hide it. I like it."

The bell rang to end class and students started piling out of the school to go to their next class across campus, while some went to lunch; which was luckily what we had. My phone vibrated as I looked down to see who had texted me. It was Catherine.

            Where are you?

Outside the cafeteria on one of the benches. -I told her

            K. -she replied. I sighed and put my phone back in my pocket.

            "Is everything ok?" Ash asked.

"Yah, Cat is on her way."

"Oh." he nodded. I wrapped my arms around his neck and laid my head on his shoulder. Both his hands wrapped around my waist once again.

"O-M-G!" I heard a familiar voice say. Crap! It was Catherine. I just gave her another reason to never shut up about Ash and I. I groaned then narrowed my eyes in her direction. She was wide-eyed and looking back and forth between Ash and I with a huge grin on her face. I sighed, patted Ash's head, then stood up and grabbed my back pack while handing Ash his. I took Cat by the arm, whom was still speechless, and led her to the cafeteria while Ashton walked on my other side, grabbing my hand, and interlocking our fingers again. I smiled down at them, up at him, and then looked straight ahead as we made our way to lunch.
