Chapter 1

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unaware of loss
Nor aware of gain
Withstood pain to create weapons waiting for one's arrival
I have no regrets, this is the only path
My whole life was

The sun shines through the window. Shirou Emiya sits on the floor nexts to a cloth with knives laid across it, he holds one in his hand. Tracing it's structure and eventually adding it to his infinite collection of blades within his mind. The incantation rang through his mind along with his fight with Archer and Gilgamesh. He lays down the knife on the cloth and stands "It's morning? Didn't realize it." He thinks to himself. There's a knock on the door, Shirou turns his head to the door "That's probably Tohsaka." He thinks and moves towards the door. Another series of knocks hits the door "Alright alright I'm coming." He says and opens the door. As the door opens Rin Tohsaka stands with her back turned, she quickly turns around to place her eyes on Shirou "I was beginning to think you slept in." She says, she's wearing her regular attire, a red long sleeved shirt with a silver cross in the middle along with her black skirt "Sorry. It's been a long night." He says and moves aside so that she can enter the apartment. Rin enters the apartment and looks around, her eyes immediately landing on the cloth "You were up all night again weren't you?" She turns to Shirou, she stares at him with that glare he knows too well "Well yeah but-" "Shirou we've talked about this. You can't keep staying up like this. Every good mage needs his rest." She says with concern "Yeah, well lucky for me I'm not that great of a mage to begin with." He says and rubs his neck while calmly laughing "No bad mage could defeat two Heroic Spirits with one being the King of Heroes... You've been thinking about him lately haven't you?" Rin gets closer and lays her eyes on Emiya "I can't get it out of my head. He's gonna be my future if I keep going down this path. It's not everyday you get to see what you become." Shirou looks down unable to look at Tohsaka. Rin tilts her head and gets a little closer almost inches away from Shirou "I made a promise to Archer. That I wouldn't let you go down that path. You can be a hero Shirou just not the one that devotes his life to saving everyone around you. You aren't going to become him I won't let you." She says and grabs Emiya's hand. Shirou looks up at Rin who's smiling at him "Tohsaka I-" "You don't need to say anything Shirou. I intend to keep my promise. After all you are my apprentice right?" She says and tilts her head once more. Relief washes over Shirou who smilies. They've come a long way from the Holy Grail War "Now how about you cook up something to kick start the morning." Rin asks and Shirou nods "I'm on it." He says and gets to cooking. 

Tohsaka takes a bite "As good as always Shirou!" She exclaims and takes another bite of the eggs "Hey Tohsaka?" Shirou says as he sits down "Yeah? What is it?" "You think maybe we could skip training and stuff today?" He says as he meets Rin's eyes "What brought this on?" "I just...want to spend time with you today that's all." He laughs in embarrassment. Tohsaka gives him a long stare, as if she were trying to summon daggers to kill him then she blushes "Oh uh well... One day isn't going to kill us I suppose." She looks away trying to hide her red face "Great." He smiles trying to make Rin even more embarrassed. It's been a couple of months since they left the Clock Tower but have been unable to leave due to lack of money but they have been keeping up with training. Once Tohsaka had finished eating, the two went out to explore all London had to offer. They stopped by a book store to browse and even bought Tohsaka a stylish new outfit so she puts.
 

 It was the afternoon, Shirou and Rin walked past Waterloo Station admiring the sights of London "Tohsaka." Shirou stops, people walking past "Yeah?" She turns around to face him "Why did you decide to come with me?" He asks "What kind of question is that?" "Well it's just... You wanted to become a full fledged mage but yet when I asked you if you wanted to come with me so that I could follow my own path, you said yes and left behind all of that...Why?" They stood as the people of London walked past "Because Shirou, ever since the start of the Grail War you were always there whether it was you now or your future self as Archer. Though I despised you for even getting involved, I wouldn't be here without you. Now that I think of it this all was bound to happen. Archer would've tracked you down to try and kill you and since you were Saber's master... Even if I hadn't saved you, you'd still be apart of my life. I lost everyone and I was alone but you Shirou....Gave me hope. Also I made a promise to Archer, that I'd keep you in check so that you don't fall down that path that turns you into a Heroic Spirit. So you're stuck with me whether you like it or not." Tohsaka looks away in a sort of disappointment as if she didn't believe Shirou even asked why "Thank you Tohsaka." "I'll always be here for you Emiya. After all I am your teacher." "Yeah yeah keep holding that one over me." He said and the two started walking again. 

They were walking until they saw someone down an alleyway, the person was unconscious on the ground "Hey are you OK?" Without hesitation Rin and Shirou quickly rush to the man's side, Tohsaka kneels down and places two fingers on his neck "He's alive." She says "Something doesn't feel right." Shirou says and looks around "You took the bait." A voice says, the body fades into dust "It was an illusion!?" Tohsaka says in shock. Figures dressed in black dropped down and surrounded them "I count six." Shirou says "Could be but we can't risk more." Rin says as she rises and gets ready to fight "Trace on!" As the words exit Shirou's mouth his signature blades materialize into his hands, Tohsaka gets ready to fight and fortifies her body "He only wants the girl, the boy is useless." One of the figures say "They're definitely mages." Shirou says and readies his blades, the two mages in front of him send volleys of fire his way, Shirou slashes through the fire "You've gotta do better than that." He says and launches forward. Rin follows suit. Shirou swings his swords but is stopped by a magic barrier "Dammit." He says as he bashes at the barrier unable to escape "This was almost too easy." One of the mages says "Hey let go!" Shirou turns to see Rin struggling to break free of a mages control "How the hell?" Shirou says "Anti-magic. Since both of you rely so much on it." A voice says "Tohsaka!" "Shirou!" Rin reaches out for Shirou but the mage holding her knocks her out "RIN!!" Shirou reaches out before he could move his vision turns black and Shirou hits the ground unconscious
