Chapter 17

Shirou woke up in the guest room of the mansion, he grunted as he sat up "Shirou." His vision focused and Saber came into full view "Saber. What happened?" He asked "You passed out after Archer lent you some of his magic power." She said, scanning him with her eyes to make sure he was OK "The same thing happened with Tohsaka. Only I was out for a couple of seconds. Agh my head." Shirou held his head as it gushed with pain. The door to his room opened, it was Ruler "You're awake." She said and Shirou nodded "Hey, I've been meaning to ask. What happened to the other Servants?" "Sieg defeated Lancer of Red, while both Rider and Archer of Red fought after Rider of Red defeated Archer of Black. As you can tell though Rider of Black is still alive." Ruler said and Shirou sighed "We could've used them, but I guess it can't be helped." Shirou said and got out of bed. He nearly fell the moment he stood up but Saber caught him "I'm alright." He said "It is fortunate that you and Rin were able to summon Servants. Powerful ones at that." "I guess so. Have you found out anything about the Ainsworths?" "I was just about to come get you for that exact reason. Please follow me." Ruler said and the three exited the room. Ruler led them to the kitchen where Lord El-Melloi sat "Lord El-Melloi." Shirou said and he put up his hand "Please, Shirou Emiya. Call me Wavier." He said and Shirou looked confused "Why are you here sir?" Shirou asked "Ms. Luvia called me and asked me about the Ainsworths. No ones heard of that name in years, though I was curious myself so myself and a couple of my students looked into them." Wavier flicked his lighter and lit his cigar "When the Holy Grail War was created. The Ainsworths were one of the families that helped make it a reality. But not longer after they were expelled from the Mages Association for illegally creating Mystic Codes. These Mystic Codes were prototypes of a sorts. Cards. That held the power of a Heroic Spirit." Wavier puffed and images flashed in Shirou's mind, he saw himself in Archer's clothing, stabbing Shinji and looking down at a card "They wanted to use this power instead of summoning Heroic Spirits. Of course it was denied and they were exiled. No ones heard from them since. Until now at least." Wavier put out his cigar "But this isn't the Ainsworths. Not fully." Shirou said and Wavier turned to Shirou "The ones we fought are from a reality where their version of the Holy Grail War was common and they wanted to use the Grail to bring about salvation. But their plans were stopped." "So, now they're here. Attempting to use the Greater Grail to accomplish this feat." Wavier said and sighed "Then it seems this Great Holy Grail War isn't a war anymore." Wavier said as he stood up "I have other matters I need to attend to. But you have my aid if needed. I don't know how I can help but feel free to ask." "Thank you for your help Lord El Melloi." Ruler said and Wavier held his hand up "It is the least I could do. I was only informed of the situation briefly last I was here. However now that I have a full grasp on the matter at hand, I'm willing to help." Wavier said and made his way to the door, he placed his hand on the door knob but didn't open it "Shirou Emiya." "Yes?" Shirou tilted his head "Dont forget what you said to me. That day in the Clocktower." Wavier said and Shirou looked confused, he then remembered speaking to a man about why he wanted to become a mage, it was the day after he and Rin visited Saber's grave "That was you?" Shirou said and Wavier smiled as he opened the door and left.

Everyone gathered around the table. Caules, Sieg and Shirou sat while the majority stood, with Ruler at the head of the table "With the information left behind by Lord El-Melloi, we can find the Ainsworth manison and disable the Bounded Field hiding it. First, Sieg and Rider and I will fight Beatrice, while Archer, Shirou amd Saber will fight on and eventually encounter Angelica. Do not take them lightly. Beatrice wields the Berserker card with the spirit of Magni, the son of Thor. While Angelica wields the Archer card with the spirit of Gilgamesh. After Angelica is defeated, Shirou's team will find Ms. Tohsaka, after that we will regroup and face Julian Ainsworth." "What do you need me to do Ruler?" Caules asked "Since you all can't fight, the Yggdmillenia faction will stay here and support those of us in the field." Ruler finished "You really know your way around the battlefield, Ruler." Archer complimented "Yes, well. I did spend a majority of my time on the battlefield." Ruler looked away in shame "We leave tommorow. Once the spell is cast to take down the Bounded Field, we'll know where they are located. So everyone get a good night's rest." Ruler said and everyone nodded and disbanded to their rooms.
