Flames licked the drapes of the building as people ran around, Katsuki glanced around quickly. His classmates fought faceless members of the league of villains. The sweat trickled down his brow as his eyes darted across the room. Flashes of green caught his eye and he barely dodged the attack from a green lizard-like person. He unleashed a large explosion toward the villain, sending them flying. Katsuki moved quickly ducking and dodging debris and flames mixed between people. Kasumi and Yuki fought on the other side of the room, Melissa behind them, powerless to help. The League of Villains had attacked, just like she had said, and still, he was unprepared. His eyes landed on Deku and Todoroki as they fought the dark-haired scarred man who had captured him at the camp. Todoroki released a huge ice attack, which was countered by the man with an even bigger flame attack. Blue flames soon turned to smoke and a puddle of water lay at their feet. Katsuki dashed toward the pair, his feet barely touching the ground. He lept up and used his quirk to propel him higher and further. He cleared the two teenagers and drop kicked the villain before setting off explosions, throwing the man to the floor, far from them.
"Holy shit," Deku mumbled.
"Have you seen Ochaco?" Katsuki asked, his eyes not staying in one place. He searched frantically.
"Yeah she was with us a couple of minutes ago, but she ran off," Todoroki said, the three of them were braced for any other attacks that came their way. Katsuki threw a glance at him before he looked at the villain at the far end of the room. He was surprised he didn't get up, as surprised as he was that the villain didn't see him. A blonde-haired girl came into view, near the body of the villain. She grimaced and charged towards them. Katsuki looked at Todoroki again.
"Got a pair of ice skates?" he asked. The teenager deadpanned but clicked quickly. The floor was coated in ice quickly before the blonde could attack, she slipped, unable to get her balance. "Where did she go?"
"She saw a person with white hair run up those stairs and followed them," Deku said pointing to a staircase behind him. Katsuki felt his skin pale as the colour drained from him.
"Can you cover me?" he pleaded, Todoroki nodded and Katsuki ran to the staircase. He skipped steps as he ran up them, the cold from the wall of ice Todoroki erected giving him goosebumps. "Please be okay," he whispered as he ran.
Katsuki ran through the hallways frantically. He called out to her but there was no response. He knew she was up here, he saw her run after Shimizu. "Chinami" he growled. She had stalked him and watched him for weeks, not even hiding it most of the time. Why did she help him? What was her angle? He never believed the rumours that popped up now and then that she had run away and joined the league, he didn't believe any of the rumours, he was too afraid to consider the possibility that she had done any of the things they said, suicide, murder, running away to another city in Japan, they all seemed so far fetched, yet rather plausible he'd never admit it though. He thought of her in a state of limbo, not alive but not dead, wasn't that the scientific theory of some asshole's cat? Both dead and alive? He thought about this as he ran through the hallways, calling his girlfriend. Damn Chibana, he cursed in his head. If she had just kept her fucking mouth shut this wouldn't have happened. If the bitch closed her legs and didn't think that bullying people gives you character, Chinami wouldn't have lured Ochaco away, wouldn't have joined the league, wouldn't have left. But if Chibana hadn't slept with half the first years, he wouldn't ever have met Chinami. He wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not.
"Katsuki!" her voice screamed out behind him. He was snapped from his thoughts instantly and spun on his heel back the way he came. She stood at the end of the hallway, facing a door that had been locked. He raced to her but she evaporated into dust. He looked around confused, before grunting and slamming himself against the locked door. He banged on it, but it wouldn't budge."Fuck!" he cursed. He stood back and placed his fist into his palm, pointing them to the door. He fired off an AP shot, sending the door splintering into pieces. He stormed into the room before the dust even settled and scanned the dark room. There was no sign of either of them, he cursed and turned his head away back toward the hallway when something caught his eye. A small glinting light on the floor in the corner of the far side of the room. He walked towards it tentatively and crouched down, and examined it. It was an earring, Ochaco's earring. He closed his fist around it and shoved it in his pocket.
"They were in here," he muttered. He scanned the room again, this time seeing a door in the wall next to him, it stood slightly ajar but no light emanated from it. He approached it carefully, not sure what could be behind the door. He didn't have his costume, so he was going into this without his gauntlets, his hands already started hurting from the AP shot he used on the door and from some explosions he set off earlier at the other villains. He could hear the fight raging downstairs, but he blocked it out. He needed to find Ochaco. Chinami was dangerous and now that she was with the league he knew she had no problem killing under Shigaraki's command. He pulled the door open and peeked in. Darkness. A long dark hallway stretched in front of him. He felt uneasy, this was horror movie levels of creepy. He hesitated for a moment, only a moment before walking into the hallway. He walked awkwardly through the dark hallway, looking around at his surroundings. He was more spacially aware of his surroundings now than he had ever been in his life, and he was terrified. He walked for what seemed like forever, following the winding pathway as the hallway went on. Eventually, the sounds of the fight downstairs faded into silence, and he finally reached the hallway, a wooden door with a golden knob in front of him, the other earring hanging from the lock. He gripped the earring, knowing this is where they were... He grabbed the knob and twisted it, pushing the door open with ease. He looked into the room, her white hair hanging above her hips, her back to him. She knew he was here, her posture relaxed when he opened the door. She turned her head, her red eyes looking at him through the corner of her eye, her devilish smirk turning into an evil grin. Her fangs glistened, her red lipstick a contrast to her pale white skin, she looked dead, like some vampire."Chinami," He growled. She grinned wider and turned more towards him.
"Katsuki! Long time no see," her voice sultry. "Although, I don't believe you're here to see me," she giggled. He felt uneasy, he looked down at the 5'2'' girl. She faced him and walked toward him. She hadn't grown at all since he last saw her two years ago.
"Stop fucking around, where is she?" He grunted.
"I knew it!" she giggled. "Come on now Katsuki, it's been so long since we've been together, don't you wanna catch up?" she smirked, placing her hands on his shirt. He gripped them and pulled them off. He tightened his grip and pulled her closer to him, bending his head near hers. He held her wrists with one hand above his head.
"Where is she?" he demanded. She didn't blink at his threatening tone.
"Oh come now, you know I wouldn't hurt her," she smirked. "In fact, you should consider yourselves safe,"
"What are you on about?" he spat. She tugged her hands free from his grip, walking to a corner of the room. "Stop fucking with me Chinami!" She pushed a wall panel and it gave way, opening to a small closet in the wall. Curled up on the floor was Ochaco, barely awake. His back straightened and his blood boiled. He rushed to the girl and fell to his knees. Chinami walked away and he cradled her, supporting her neck and holding her waist, pulling her closer. "Ochaco, are you alright?" he asked the brunette.
"Katsuki?" she smiled up at him, she placed a hand on his cheek. She looked frail but unharmed.
"You must really love each other, huh?" Chinami said, her voice different.
"What did you do to her?" He looked at the girl behind him. She closed the door and turned to him. His eyes widened at the girl. She looked nothing like she did before. She was softer and she'd wiped off the red lipstick. Her eyes filled with tears and her smirk replaced with a twisted scowl. She started sobbing into her hands. "What the fuck?" he sputtered.
"I'm sorry," she sobbed. "I couldn't hurt you! Or her, not after what you did for me back then!"
"What are you talking about?" he grumbled, he was confused.
"I couldn't go through with the plan, I couldn't hurt you by letting her get hurt, I needed to lure you away to a safe space, where they couldn't find you. But I can't let you leave either, not yet!" she sobbed more. "I need you to know I'm so sorry for what I'm about to do!" she looked up at him and the tears spilt down her cheeks.
"Chinami?"
"I'm sorry," she whispered. She opened her palms and this red powder flowed from them, her quirk, he realized. The room was soon filled with the red powder, it was getting hard to breathe.
"Katsuki," Ochaco called, he looked down at her, his vision going dark.
"Chinami! Stop!" he wheezed, he gripped his girlfriend to him before falling limp next to her, the last thing he saw was her eyes closing.
"I'm so sorry," Chinami's voice rang in his ear before everything went black."I'm so sorry," Chinami's voice rang in his ear before everything went black.
