**beep...beep...beep
I HATE THE SOUND OF THE ALARM CLOCK. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S 6:30 IN THE MORNING.
Today is the day I move from LA to a small town called Oakheart. LA is the place where everyone's dream comes true. It's kinda sad that I have to leave.
I walk downstairs to see my dad flipping pancakes.
"Good morning dad," I say still in a groggy state.
"Morning sweetie," he says while nonchalantly flipping his pancake.
My dad has been excited to move ever since we bought the house. Ever since I was little my parents fought. I was used to it and by the time I was 10 I knew it was gonna happen. My parents never wanted to split because they wanted me and my twin brother to be happy, but now we're 14 and they just gave up all hopes of being a family. The divorce was final a fee months ago.
"The moving van is coming at 7:30 to get our stuff," my dad says.
"Ok," I say, "I already have everything packed I just need to change."
"Ok," he says while handing me my chocolate chip pancakes.
"Thanks dad."
"No problem sweetie. Today's a big day."
"I know. I just hope I can make friends at the new school."
"Don't worry Callie. Its freshman year of high school. Everyone is going to be lost."
"Yea, you're right, but like I already miss all my friends. And I haven't even moved yet!"
"Its gonna be hard but I know you will make it through. Hey, at least Erica is coming over before you leave."
Erica is my best friend. We have known each other since we were in diapers because we are neighbours. She is the best.
"Yea. Actually I should go text her right now to confirm she's coming"
"Sounds good! Can you wake up your brother as well"
"Ughhhh. Fine."
I go upstairs into Connors room and of course, he's asleep.
"WAKE UP!" I scream at him while hitting him with one of his pillows.
"Whaaaatttt," Connor says while still sleepy.
"Its already 7:00 Connor and the moving van is coming at 7:30."
"I only need 5 minutes to get ready."
I take his wrist and drag him out of bed until
he falls on the ground."What the heck Callie!" he practically screams.
"GET UP!" I scream back.
"I'm up. I'm up," he says rising to his feet.
"Good," I said leaving.
Text Conversation between Callie and Erica
Callie: Hey!
Erica: It's too early for this
Callie: U promised you would come to say goodbye to me
Erica: Ughhhh
Callie: See ya in 10!
Erica: Byeee
I put my phone down and go into Connors room. He is doing some last minute packing and looks surprised when I walk in.
"Hey," he says seemingly not tired anymore.
"Hey, is Quinn coming over?"
Quinn is one of Connors best friends and in 7th grade, I had a crush on him. He never found out though (thank the lords).
"Yea, he should be here any minute," Connor responds, "Is Erica coming over?"
"Yep in about 10 minutes"
A long silence fills the air.
"Hey Callie are you nervous about like moving?"
"Yea of course. Isn't everyone?"
"I'm just gonna miss LA so much and all of our friends."
"Yea but we're gonna make new friends Connor don't worry. And plus we're gonna be going into freshman year of high school, so it's not that bad."
"True"
**ding dong**
"I'll go get it. It's probably Quinn," Connor says halfway running down the stairs.
A few seconds later Connor calls out, "Callieeee, Erica's here as well."
I run downstairs to greet Erica. This is the last time I will see her for a while. As I hug her I start to feel tears coming out of my eyes, but I force myself to hold it back.
