A month went by and Emma and I have become really good friends, I even became friends with a few of her friends. Mid August hit and it was time for pre-season tennis. Turns out when Emma said she played tennis, she meant once when she was 11. So she isn't the greatest but it's ok because at least she on the team (thank god there are no cut-offs).

Connor had pre-season soccer at the same time I had tennis so the driving schedule worked out for my dad. He's going to be a teacher at the high school, so right now he works part-time at a cafe where the hours are flexible.

Throughout middle school, Connor and I have been in the same friend group. But the guys Emma's friends with play basketball. I'm kinda happy because Connor would always tell embarrassing stories about me all the time. It's just kinda odd to mention someone to Connor and him not know who it is or vice-versa.

It's finally the first day of high-school. This school is small compared to my old school. This school has like 200 kids graduating per grade, and in my old school, it was 800! Last night I made sure to shower so my hair would be nice and clean for today. For the first day of school outfit, I picked out some simple jean shorts with a basic t-shirt. I decided to wear a nice necklace with a few rings and my white converse. My hair is naturally straight so last night I put my hair in braids to make curly waves for today. I also have to pack my bag for tennis because we have our first match today as well.

I compared my schedule with Emma and a few other girls from the tennis team. I have lunch and a few other classes with Emma which is good.

Luckily Connor and I don't have to wake up early and take the bus because my dad a teacher at the school so he can just drive us, but we have to get there a little bit early so he can set up for the day. My dad made us pancakes and created a face out of fruit for the first day of school. I thought it was cute but Connor just said it was childish.

All the teachers were talking about their curriculum and rules on the first day, which is kind of boring but whatever. Our homework was to just get our Syllabus's signed. Lunch comes around luckily for me I don't have to worry about where to sit. Emma and a bunch of other girls motion at me to sit with them. I sit next to Emma and there is an empty seat next to me.

We talk for like 3 minutes, and then one of the girls' motions at a group of guys to sit with us. I recognize some of the guys from their Instagrams, and I notice Daniel is there too. All the boys come over and Daniel just happens to sit next to me. I'm not gonna lie, I was happy.

"Who is the new girl?" One of the guys asks.

I'm assuming they all knew each other form middle school.

"This Is Callie, she's my neighbour and my best friend," Callie says

"Nice to meet you Callie," Daniel says, "Don't we follow each other on insta?"

"Um, I think so," I lie.

"Well my name is Daniel," he says with a smile.

"Nice to meet you Daniel," I smile back

"And I'm Matt, Daniels best bro," the guy sitting on the other side of Daniel says.

The rest of the guys at the table introduce themselves and we all start talking. But I didn't really pay attention because I can't help but feel that Daniel is looking over at me, so every once a while I would look over and catch him staring at me. I'd just laugh and look away.
