When Fabri walked into Mr. Can's office, he was instantly met with hostility. Can and Fabri never truly met eye to eye but something seemed more off than usual today. The air was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
"Good morning, Mr. Can." Fabri nodded.
"Enzo Fabri." Can nodded back curtly, a grimace on his face. As soon as he'd noticed Fabri in the agency, Can wanted to wipe the stupid smile off his face. All he could keep seeing was Fabri and Sanem together and it made his blood run cold.
"I would like to talk to you about a business deal."
"A business deal?" Can scoffed, throwing his arms up in disbelief. Emre had said this would happen, that this is what Sanem and Fabri had been laughing at behind his back. At first, the good in Can wanted to believe Sanem was right and that there was a plausible explanation for it all. But with all the proof under his nose, Can had to believe his brother. Everything Emre was saying made sense and it made him angry. He was no longer heartbroken, he was devastatingly furious at Sanem and her sick little games.
Why him? Why had she played him so badly?
"Yes, a business deal."
"Please, elaborate." Can took a seat and clasped his hands together mockingly. He wanted to hear what joke of a deal Fabri and Sanem had conjured up behind his back.
"I need help with a new makeup campaign I am working on. I thought your agency was perfect; young, contemporary-"
"Oh really, and was that Miss. Sanem's idea or yours?" Can practically spat out her name, disgusted by how he'd gone from loving this girl to loathing her in the matter of minutes.
"Excuse me?"
"Was it Sanem's idea or yours?"
"Why would it be Sanem's-" Fabri was trying to abide by the words of Sanem. He had given her his word that he wouldn't disclose their meeting or their arrangement to Can.
"Who was the mastermind, huh?" Can paid heed to the fact that Fabri called her Sanem and not Miss. Sanem. The formality between the two of them seemed to have disappeared so suddenly and it just added to the inner turmoil within Can. Had they been meeting up like this when he and Sanem were together? Was Emre right? Had Sanem just been in it for the money? Like Emre had done earlier, Can threw the pictures of Fabri and Sanem on the table.
"Have you been following me?" Fabri asked, outraged. The pictures that Can had were highly intrusive and he didn't understand why or how these pictures had been taken.
"Did you come here to mock me?" Can slammed a hand against the table. "Are you going to go home and laugh at me with Sanem? Laugh at my misfortune?" Fabri was going to refuse but Can's next words angered him greatly. "I didn't think you were so cowardly, Enzo Fabri. I thought if you had some sort of problem with me, you'd come say it. I guess you aren't a hot-blooded Italian like you pretend to be-"
"You think I'm a coward?" Fabri had a short fuse and he reacted rather irrationally; his deal with Sanem completely ignored.
"Yes, I think you're a coward who has no respect for business relations."
"Well, your fiancé didn't think I was a coward. In fact, she didn't hesitate when asking me to come over here." To prove his point, Fabri pushed a picture of him and Sanem hugging towards a fuming Can. It was the gesture that really pushed Can over the edge. "She pitied you! And she needed a man to come to her rescue."
"You, get out of my office, right now!" Can collected the pictures and threw them at Fabri, loads of them hitting him square in the face. "You and your business deal can go to hell!"
"I was trying to help you ... out of the kindness of my heart." Can resisted the urge to punch Fabri, out of the kindness of his heart? What rubbish. "But you and your agency can suffer."
"We don't need your help!"
"Oh, but on the contrary, you do!" Fabri replied smugly. From what Sanem had told him, the Divit agency was in serious financial need. "But as you said, you don't need my help." Fabri grabbed his things and stormed out of the office, making sure to slam the door on his way out. As he strolled towards the door, employees scrambled to work, pretending they were not listening to the argument as it unfolded. Amongst them was an agitated and on-edge Leyla.
"Ooff, Sanem, ooff!" Leyla cursed as she called her sister yet again. As expected, Sanem answered within seconds.
"Abla! What's going on?!" An impatient Sanem rambled down the phone, her fingernails in her mouth and her heart stammering aggressively. "What did Mr. Fabri say?"
"It's bad, Sanem. Really bad."
"What? Why? What did Fabri say?"
"He told Can about your deal."
"I knew it! I knew this would happen." From Sanem's tone, Leyla wasn't sure what she detected. Her sister was always an interesting character but even this, was weird - was there a hint of happiness in her sister's voice?
"Sanem, are you okay?"
"Abla, I knew he was going to do this!" Sanem grinned happily on the other end of the phone. "I planned for this to happen!"
"What? Sanem, you're not making any sense-"
"Fabri's going down, Abla." Sanem's plan was about to hit two birds with one stone – help Can and the agency and destroy Fabri ... even if it cost her the love of her life.
