~Y/N POV~

I was a nice day and my brothers had been begging to go out for the last past week.

I held baby Sarah in my lap as my older sister, Betty, sat next to me, doing some needle-point. She looked over at me as I bounced Sarah.
"I'm sorry about the thing."

I didn't reply.

I think I knew what she ment.

Sarah coo-ed and I kissed her cheek. Gary and George - the twins - were playing on the park and seemed to have met a kid. His name was Les or something like that. Betty called out warnings while I just watched chaos pursue.

"Y/N!" I looked up at my name.

It was Race. I blushed and looked away as he neared, hoping to not draw Betty's attention to him, but Betty already heard and spotted Race.

Betty practically threw her work down, grabbing her large dress in bunches. She ran towards him, completely forgetting the boys or baby Sarah.

I held Sarah against my bosom and rushed to Betty. Betty started scolding Race and yelling at him to get lost. "Get away from my sister," She tried to threaten Race.

I intervened, handing Sarah to Betty and telling her to check up on the twins. Betty reluctantly huffed off, side eyeing Race. As she walked a way, she was ranting to Sarah, who had just begun to spit up because of being jostled so much. "I'm sorry Race, I can't really talk to you when my family is around."
"I know, but I haven't talked to you in two months."
"I'm not allowed to go out to races by myself anymore. My siblings snitched on me."

He sighed, adjusting his hat over his golden curly hair. His eyes had a certain sadness I also felt.

I rocked onto the balls of my feet, smiling, "Well, hey, Race, close your eyes."

He did as such and I stood on my tiptoes, putting my right hand on his left cheek and kissing his right cheek. I whispered in his ear, "I dare you to find me at Medda's tonight."

I felt little hands grab my skirts and pull me away. I let my hand fall back  to my side. Race ruffled George's hair, making both Gary and George squeal.

The twins laughter was contagious, making me and Race laugh too. I gave Race a little wave as I heard the rowdy boys back to Betty.

"Get back here," I heard a a voice behind me.

Arms wrapped around my waist. I squealed out as Race lifted me up. Once he sat me down, he kissed my cheek, "Challenge accepted."

I could see the snobby reply Betty had locked and loaded for us. It was a savior that Betty just happened to see George push Gary off a swing.

We both laughed and Race started running once Betty came stomping over to us with my older brother who just came out of nowhere. Race decided to start booking it back to his job. He cluched his papers in his arms, looking like goof. My goof. Race yelled, "See you," over his shoulder to me.

I smiled at the fleeing boy. He was so goddamn cute.
