changes

you and tom had discussed major changes coming to your family. specifically having a child. and not another dog. you and tom already had two dogs, tessa and y/d/n. you and tom had been discussing having a baby.

you thought that you where ready, and tom thought his career was at the perfect resting point for you two to make a huge change.

after two months of trying (which tom really enjoyed) you had to run out of bed at 6 am to throw up the dinner you had enjoyed the night before. tom was still fast asleep, which made you think you could slip out for a second to go to the drug store.

"that'll be £10, would you like a bag?" the checker lady asked. "yes, please," i reply, my hands shaking from nerves, or maybe i need to puke again.

i drive back to our flat, my heart feeling as if it'll pound through my chest at any moment. i sneak into the bedroom, and see tom, as fast asleep as when i had left.

i run into the bathroom, and piss on the stick. i wait five minutes, which go by surprisingly fast when you're contemplating everything. the timer on my phone goes off, and the sound echos through the room. "crap," i mutter under my breath. i hear tom wake up, and go out into the living room.

i check the three tests. they all say negative. my heart feels like it stops. i really thought that i was. it feels stupid to cry, but i do. and that's how thomas finds me. crying on the bathroom floor.
"oh my darling, please don't cry," he says stroking your head. after the tears stop falling, he has to ask, "what was wrong y/n?" he has you sat on his lap, his conceded eyes looking down into your watering ones. "i, uh, thought i was pregnant," i say, looking down, i can't meet thomas' eyes. "oh my love, it's okay," i say as i start to cry again. he softly kisses the top of my head. "we can keep trying," he whispers, his smirk touching my ear. i nod, and gently get up, pulling up tom. i also kiss him softly, before the throwing up again.

i hope you enjoyed!
