christmas day

i decided to have this be a follow up to my thanksgiving chapter! so read that if you're in need of a refresher.

y/n pov

peter and i have enjoyed the bliss of the first month of my pregnancy. or he has been a panicky mess. i have had really bad morning sickness. it freaks peter out pretty bad.

we decided to tell everyone at our christmas party, so both of our families would be there and so it wouldn't result in as much stress. aunt may is coming as well as mr and mrs stark for peter. my brother is bringing his girlfriend along with him.

"you haven't puked all day!" peter cheers as he starts cooking. normally i would, but we don't want any vomit in the christmas dinner.

peter and i just talk for hours while he cooks. about our baby, about how the city's been without spider-man, about how mr. stark is going to make fun of peter, and also about how much i don't want my family here.

"can't i just say i'm sick so we cancelled?" i plead, to my boyfriend as he shoves a thermometer into a ham.
"love, we need to tell them that you're pregnant. your family aren't my favourite people either, but they deserve to know," he says, throwing a towel at me as he finishes the last of the food.
"oh it is on!" i yell, heaving the towel back at him when his back is turned. but the spidey senses allows him to turn around and catch it before playfully charging at me. he carefully drops my on our couch, and tickles my sides. he does this until we hear the doorbell ring.

peter composes himself, and answers the door. "aunt may! come in!" i love how much peter loves his aunt, it's truly adorable.
"hello y/n!" may holds out her arms and i walk into them. "the food smells delicious, y/n!" she says. "well i can't take credit for that," peter bows as she turns her head to him.

i don't notice that i am unconsciously cradling my small bump, until may looks back at me. she doesn't point it out, but her eyes do widen. the door bell rings again, and i answer it, dropping my arms from my little bump. "(brothers name b/n) and i haven't met you yet?" i say looking at his girlfriend. she is blonde, skinny, and looks like b/n met her at a club. a strip club.

"hi! i am lily, nice to meet you." b/n holds out a present, and i go set it under our tree.
"well, y/n, have you gained some weight since i last saw you?" b/n and lily come up to ask me.
peters jaws drops in anger. he looks like he wants to kill them.
i go over and hug him, my short body calming down my husband.
after i choose to ignore the question about my weight, tony and pepper walk in. peter goes and takes their coats, and i walk over, again holding my bump. "hi tony!" i say, hugging the billionaire and friend. "well let's eat!" peter says, and we start the festivities. peter cuts the ham, and i dish out for for every one. peter comes up and whispers in my ear "when are we going to tell them?" his voice is full of excitement and pride. "why don't you go get the ultrasound, and i'll finish dishing up the grub?" i whisper back, and peters runs up the stairs to grab it. after i've set the last plate down, peter comes up behind me, and hands me the picture. "can we make an announcement?" peter says, over the chit chat. "y/n is pregnant. by me," aunt mays eyes immediately light up. tony and pepper both cry, and my brother and his girlfriend roll their eyes. "i'm gonna be a grandma!!" aunt may yells.

i end up crying, because A i am pregnant, and B my family just reacted just how i expected. my real family, may and tony and pepper, my brother doesn't count anymore, he is just a stranger.

peter holds my hand, and kisses me, before sitting down to eat. we all eat together and it is great.

after they all leave, peter whoops with happiness. "we did it!"
"can we go to bed peter? i am so tired,". "of course love," he kisses my head softly, "let's get you into bed,"
