3rd Person's POV - Later that night
Bayside, Queens

A car was parked near a small store, inside is the old detective waiting for his partner. Moments later his partner came from the store bringing some coffee and donut

"Here, black with no sugar right?" His partner hands him the coffee

"Donut? For real? And i thought i'm the old fashioned guy" he commented

"Its good" his partner said, mouth full of donut

"So we're going to sum up what we learned today?" His partner asked

"Yeah, first of all... Each victim's head were either missing, destroyed, or had giant hole on it. Possibly the killer did that to make sure the victim is unrecognizable" he explained

"Maybe, but we can still identify them by family statement, blood test, etc." His parter replied

"Yeah... Maybe they did it some other reason" he said

"Next thing is all the victims are in pretty bad shape, mutilated, most internal organs are missing, hell some of them are actually had became minced meat, and forensics found some saliva sample all over the bodies"

"I guess your hunch was right, a cannibal" his partner said in a dark tone

"Still can't confirm it though, they weren't able to recognize the saliva sample" he sounded worried

"Something's been bothering me though" his partner said in a worried tone

"What is it?"

"The second victim we found in the alley.. The guy who had been torn in half, its looks abnormal to me" his partner said

"The guy was torn in half, of course its abnormal" he commented

"No thats not what i meant. Remember what you said? 'he was stabbed in the stomach and his head and got torn apart in half'." His partner quoted his words

"What of it?" He seemed confused

"You see... In order to do something like that you need at least a sharp instrument like sword or something to cut them in half. But the victim we found looked like he was torn apart by brute force"

"Hmm... That kinda explain why his blood splattered all over the wall and his inside were all over the ground"

"That reminds me" he pulls out a file from the dashboard

"What's that?" his partner asked

"Autopsy report of all the victims, the coroner gave it to me this morning" he said while browsing through the files

"Anything interesting?"

"Yeah... One, check this out" he handed the file to his partner

"All the other victim died almost immediately due to severe wounds. But the last victim didn't die immediately, instead he died after his head was stabbed"

"Yeah, its a bit odd and they didn't find any saliva like on the other bodies" his partner said in a curious tone

"Maybe he just at the wrong place in the wrong time"

"You're saying that he's not a target? Just a witness or something?" His partner seemed to understand it

"Yeah, that. Maybe he saw something or saw the killer themselves... Giving the killer no choice but to quickly shut him up"

"Maybe you're right but that doesn't really help us" his partner commented

Suddenly the radio on the car switched on as the operator started speaking "This is dispatch, requesting any available unit in bayside area over"
