Kristi's POV
Saying goodbye is hard when you just got him back. I felt like crying.
Once again, I was leaving the airport with tears in my eyes. And I'm crying because of Luke. But this time it was different reason why I was crying.
I got into my Rover and started driving back to my house.
I pulled into my driveway and got out. I walked into the house. I saw my mom sitting in the living room, watching TV.
"Hey sweetie. How was your afternoon?" She asked as I walked into the living room more.
"It was good until I had to say goodbye to Luke." I said sitting on the couch next to her.
"It's going to be okay Kristi. He will be back in two months." My mom said and I nodded my head.
"I should go to bed. I have to go to school tomorrow." I said and she nodded her head as I walked up to my room.
I walked in and jumped into my bed. I smiled as I still smelt the cologne Luke was wearing.
Then I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
----
It's been a week now since Luke left. Classes were so boring and it made me realize that this isn't what I want to do with my life.
"Mom can we talk?" I asked when I got home from school. She nodded her head and we sat at the kitchen table.
"What's up?" She asked as I pushed my hair behind my ears.
"I don't want to study what I'm studying anymore." I said and my mom looked at me confused.
"But you wanted to be a nurse ever since you were a little girl." She said and I shrugged.
"Well I just don't feel like it anymore." I said and she looked at me.
"What made you change your mind?" She asked and I sighed.
"I honestly don't know. I'm just not happy." I said and she nodded her head in understanding.
"Then what do you want to study?" She asked and I shrugged once again.
"I don't know. Maybe become a teacher or something. But I don't even know." I said and my mom looked away from me for a second.
"Well you can't just stop. You have to think of something else to study." She said and I looked up at her.
"Maybe I don't want to go back to school right now." I said to her. She narrowed her eyes at me.
"Kristi! You're going to school and that's final." She raised her voice at me.
"I'm nineteen now mom. You can't control me anymore." I spat at her. Her eyes widened and she chuckled.
"You're living in my house." She said with a small on her face.
"Then I'll just leave." I said getting up from the table.
"And go where? You don't have any money to go anywhere." She said and I rolled my eyes.
"Really? Who says?" I asked. She then took the hint as to where I was getting at.
"You don't have money for a plane ticket." She said and I shrugged.
"I have money hidden. I'm pretty sure it's enough." I said walking up the stairs.
I grabbed a two suitcases and started throwing clothes into them. My mom walked in.
"Please don't leave." She said in an almost whisper. I looked up at her. She had tears in her eyes.
I got up from the floor and walked over to her, giving her a hug.
