Chapter 17

~At a Banquet~

A tall, handsome silver haired multi-millionaire recording artist, producer and composer was walking around the banquet that his company threw in celebration for their anniversary of his debut. He was just saying hello to as many people as he could until he saw a blonde, handsome guy talking to a woman he's never seen so he approaches them. "Seokjin."

"Oh, if it isn't the man Kim Namjoon himself. Namjoon, I'd like you to meet a woman who would like to collaborate with you, plus she has an exchange for you. Her name is Lee Chaerin." Seokjin said.

"Oh, it's nice to meet a beautiful woman like yourself." Namjoon did the nice thing and laid a kiss on her hand, he also probably did it to make Seokjin jealous. "What kind of exchange are we talking about?"

"Unless you want to be exposed about who you are at night and why you don't stick around after your concerts to interact with your fans." CL said with a rather threatening way, "I suggest that the Bat and Cat do what I say, otherwise things could get messy. I have my entire squad mingled in the crowd. From what I heard as well, the clown is here..."

"You dirty little---" Seokjin began to which Namjoon just put a hand in front of Seokjin.

"So if I don't do what you say, you'll reveal my 'secret' identity to Joker and Harley...which could result in the world knowing who I am." Namjoon looked at CL stone faced, "Very well, speak."

"I can guarantee you that the 'Family Killer' is here at this banquet. Only the richest, whether it was earned honestly or not, people are here and I can only imagine the man or woman that killed so many families is here tonight scouting out the next family. I haven't told them yet but Eunjung and her father's are definitely on their list for the next family." CL said with confidence.

"How do you know all of this?" Seokjin was a bit taken aback about CL's information.

"An old family friend of yours informed me...I believe his old name used to be Park Jimin. He wouldn't tell me who the killer is but I do know that they are extremely close to Eunjung and her family." CL explained as she pulled out a folder, "These are all of my suspects...there are really only 3 prime suspects but I listed 5."

Namjoon and Seokjin went through the papers, Seokjin looked shocked by the names, "Your Top 3 suspects are Kim Taehyung, Henry Lau, and...Jung Dawon. The only one I can see-- wait a minute...each of them have something that could lead to them but I just don't see how Taehyung is a suspect. Prior to his accident at the chemical plant, he did not have the ability or even the intention of killing anybody. Henry on the otherhand showed up out of nowhere once Amber walked into Jieun's life but now that they split and that he's in my squad, it's highly unlikely. Why do you suspect Dawon?"

"From what Eunjung has told me and remembered about the shape of each of their souls, Kim Taehyung aka the Joker actually has a soul but it's broken beyond repair. Henry has a mischievious soul but not at all malicious unless he's playing with somebody's mind with puzzles and riddles. However, she described Dawon's soul to be corrupted...but she had trouble figuring out if it was just the nature of her soul or if it was formed that way through her mother's death early on in the Jung sibling's life." CL took a deep breath as she signaled Eunjung to join them and when she did Seokjin's eyes widened to see the little 5 year old girl to be a 15 year old teenager in front of him. "Eunjung has the power to speak to the dead but more specifically Dawon's brother and Taehyung's ex..."

"Jung Hoseok was only about 20 years old when he was brutally murdered along with Taehyung's little siblings and parents. He remembered the hired torturers and gunman but does not remember if they said a name. Hoseok doesn't want to believe but he also said he wouldn't blame her if she was one who started killing innocent families...she is broken from their mother's death and she hated their step mother that she wanted to kill her but I think something else triggered in her." Eunjung said as if she was spacing out, "I'm sorry...I can't make him talk anymore. He can't bring himself to think of his sister that way." Interrupting the conversation was Jisoo who wanted to be near Eunjung, "If you'll excuse me. It was nice to finally meet you, Namjoon. I heard a lot about you from Seokjin." She bowed before walking off with Jisoo.

"How are you going to validate your claim? Do you have a plan?" Namjoon asked.

"I do. I am going to reunite Harley with his long lost clown lover." CL said knowing full well that Namjoon and Seokjin would disagree and that is why she blackmailed them wtih their secret identities. "I heard Dawon has been...confiding in the clown. I believe she wants to settle down with someone...but I find it strange that she wants to stay with the clown despite all the hatred she harbors for him."

"How do you know about all of this?" Seokjin asked a bit skeptical.

"You forget that Ivy is a part of my squad...she is connected to every plant on earth even in homes. She tells me everything that happens." CL said.

"While I don't like the thought of those two maniacs being reunited, I want this 'Family Killer' to be caught and if you're what...75% sure that Dawon is the mastermind...then I want her put in prison for her crimes." Namjoon said. "I have to go and talk to other people...Get Harley on the scene and make he actually does his job."

"Don't worry...there's always something in Harley that will do what I tell him to do." CL was referring to Jungkook, if his family is in danger then I know that he will do whatever it takes to make sure Jieun and Eunjung are safe.
