Chapter 2

A month later, after the events of Jungkook finding out his wife was pregnant, things were looking up. The extra hours that Jungkook were working were beneficial for both his job and his home life. Jieun was healthy and her pregnancy was going well despite her health history. She was glowing and seeing that made the hard work Jungkook was doing worth it. They were planning out the baby's nursery already despite not knowing the gender and their marriage became what they wanted when they first married each other. "Are you able to take a week off soon, Kookie?"

"Well, it really depends on when and if I'm able to diagnose my current patient," Jungkook sighed because he had been assigned the Joker for 1 month straight. They kept assigning the madman to Jungkook because he was able to get more out the maniac than any other psychiatrist.

"What did you say the guy's name was?" Jieun asked as she was putting color palettes against the wall trying to find a pink or blue that would look good when they found out the gender.

"His name is Kim Taehyung. He's probably one of the most complex patients I've ever had. I cannot figure what is wrong with him despite the terrible things he's done." Jungkook looked at his hand considering it was shaking. It happened every time he thought of the man but not out of fear, in fact, Jungkook didn't know what it was. "Anyways, sweetheart. I just came in here to say goodbye to you." Jungkook smiled as he kissed her soft cheek. "I might be late again tonight."

"It's okay. You're making everything possible, Kookie~ Do you still promise that when the child is born that you'll quit your job?" Jieun had one condition for Jungkook because she didn't like seeing Jungkook come home looking like he belongs in Arkham Asylum. "You're making plenty of money that we can save up after we have the nursery all set up. The amount you will make in these next 8 months will be enough to last us a while until you or I find a new job."

Jungkook sighed and then he hugged her, "I promised you didn't I? You and I don't have to worry. We'll be okay. Yes, I will quit my job in 8 months." That meant he had to cure Taehyung before he left. Jungkook thought he was the only one who could. "Alright, I have to go. I'll see you tonight." They kissed goodbye then Jungkook walked out of the future nursery and left for work.

Jungkook walked into the break room so he could get his assignment then Jimin walks in who's eyes widened when he noticed Jungkook, "What? You look like hell." Jungkook looked at his own papers and saw his goals for the day, "Okay, who didn't give my patient his medicine today?"

"Oh, our boss thought since you're so close to him that you could give him the injection." Jimin still had a look of worry, "You look like you belong in the yellow ward of the asylum. Are you sure you can handle these extra hours?"

"I have to, Jimin. It's killing me but I have to. I can tell that the medical bill for her pregnancy is going to be expensive. I'll be okay. I should be able to get paid time off soon so I'll have a break." Jungkook went through the supply drawer and saw the medication. "This is really powerful stuff. We don't even know if he is psychotic or schizophrenic or what. This by itself can make a person crazy without a proper diagnosis."

"Trust me. He's psychotic. It's true he's still the same on the medication but we have to give it to him." Jimin told Jungkook who just sighed as he took the things.

Jungkook was on his way to the room where Joker was being held. They had moved him to a more open space whenever Jungkook had to talk to him. The more sessions they had together, Jungkook felt as if he was getting closer to Taehyung. Jungkook saw the guards and they just nodded their heads. They swiped their card and then Jungkook swiped his, the door clicked, and he went inside. The door closed and he heard laughter, "Ooh, it's my Harley~"
