Chapter One

Daniella's

A day in the office is always somewhat like rainbows and sprinkles.

But this day isn't.

Today I am so busy. Piles of paper work are left undone above my desk. I need to revise these designs for a company. They requested this to be ready in about 1 week. I didn't imagine this to be this hard.

This is so draining.

I think I won't finish this today. Just a little bit of relaxation and I think I'll get this work done tomorrow.

"Angel! Uuwi na ako. Ikaw na bahala mag sara nito ha! Dont forget the important stuff. Make sure you keep them in the vault. Okay?"  sabi ko kay Angel, my secretary. She is my secretary, the first and only secretary.

"Okay ma'am! Ingat po kayo."

I drove to my favorite cafe and ordered my favorite drink,

"Miss, one chocolate chip cream please. Venti. One whole chocolate cake and three brownies."

This was a stressful day. So why not go stress eating?

"Is that all ma'am?"

"Yes."

Inabot ko na ang bayad sa cashier. And sat down for a while to wait for my order. I chose to sit near the counter so I can easily get my orders.

But a moment later, a familiar face entered the cafe. Well, I was never good in remembering names. But she looked awfully familiar. And I think she's someone know. Her name is already on the tip of my tongue.

"Daniella?? Is that you already? Oh my gosh! You're so pretty and so blooming. Ano na balita? Are you married already?"

"Um. Hi?" I scratched my head because I can't help but be awkward. "Thank you for the compliment and to answer your question, no. Im not yet married."

"Oh. Okay? So I think that you don't remember me anymore. Ako si Lyca, your classmate noong college sa BFU. Ako yung nagtuturo sayo ng formulas sa math kund di mo alam hehehehe." she said while trying her best to make me remember.

"Ahhh. I remember you already. Sorry for my attitude. You looked really familiar but di ko talaga maalala ang pangalan mo."

"Its okay. Ano ka ba, may pinagsamahan naman tayo eh. But by the way, otw na sana ako sa office mo for an important matter."

"Really? Ano 'yon?" as curious as I was I anticipated her reply.

"Kasi yung college batch natin nagpaplano na mag reunion. And we've temporarily decided na sa café ko nalang. Pero kung may suggestions ka kung san pa pwede we could consider it, undecided pa naman kasi"  Oh a reunion. I was never used to social gatherings, it was really uncomfortable for me to talk to others (except my bestfriends syempre).

"I think anywhere is okay. As long as we will all have fun" napipilitan lang talaga ako. i was internally praying na magka lagnat ako sa day na 'yon.

"Okay! Great! I'll just ask for your number and itext nalang kita for the details."

"Yes. Sure, just text me a day before para maclear ko ang schedule ko if ever may prior appointment ako." I really need to be ready for this. This may be my first time, but I will not be scared.

"One chocolate chip cream blended beverage, whole chocolate cake, and three brownies to go for Daniella." the barista called out my name so loud as if ang layo ko sa counter. Pero malay niya naman kung sino si Daniella. He's just doing his job- ugh I should stop talking to myself. I sound crazy.

"Ayan na ang order mo. I'll be on my way. Nice meeting you again after a long time. I'm expecting you at the reunion ha! I promise it's going to be fun" I was unsure, but i guess  nothing could make me hold back.

"Yes. I'll definitely go, dont worry. Ingat ka ha."  wala nang bawian i have uttered the word of commitment. Kailangan kong panindigan yung desisyon ko.

"Ingat ka rin. Thank you for your time. At sorry sa abala Byeeeee!" Lyca bid goodbye like it would be my last time seeing her.

"Bye"

Pagdating ko sa condo ko I quickly devoured the brownie and drank my frappe. Netflix movies and series' are interesting these days, so i decided to watch something. Not long after preparing for the movie I chose,  I heard my phone rang.

○Kuya

Panget, I'm on the way to your condo with Daniel. May chocolate ice cream akong dala.

Now I'm back to babysitting. But It's not that bad when its my cute and handsome nephew. He should be exposed sa mga good-looking people like me para maging gwapo pa siya lalo pag tanda. Sana paglaki niya, he'll end up looking like his beautiful tita and not like his ugly dad.

I decided to change the movie i was about to watch. Love story kasi, baka may inappropriate scenes pa dun tapos makita ni Daniel.

Inihanda ko na rin 'yong cake para kay Daniel at Kuya Jd. Parati nandito and mag-amang 'yon kung wala nang pagkain sa condo ni Kuya. Most of the time nasa akin si Daniel pero pag parehas kaming busy, the kid would stay in our parent's house.

Daniel is my favorite nephew (well of course he's my only nephew) he really looks like me and acts like me too. He is a blessing given to our family because he entered our lives unexpectedly. He was a gift given by God waiting to be unwrapped by us. We never saw him as a mistake. He was more like a surprise meant to make our happy life even more happier.

What more could I ask for?

My doorbell suddenly rang. The're here!

"Hello my beautiful Tita! I missed you so much!" Daniel hugged me tight as if we haven't seen each other for years.

"I missed you too baby. Wait, saan na ang daddy mo?"

"He left already. He was so busy Tita. All those papers and adult stuff. It's super boring. Let's just eat some ice cream and watch movie! I missed bonding with you tita!"

"Okay, okay let's go"
