CHAPTER TWO
"What the fuck are you doing!" June struggled to remove Alex's death grip on her arms behind her back. He just shot two of Alejandro's cronies and blood pooled beneath them. "Are you insane? You are gonna get killed if Alejandro get a wind of this which for sure would happen at any moment now!" June grunted and Alex leaned on her, subduing her.
"I can't do this June. I can't kill her. Now I have to clock you in the head so you won't get tangled up with this." Alex said. He knew in his gut that he couldn't kill Vanessa. He couldn't let June get killed as well because of him. She might be Alejandro's daughter but that monster couldn't care less. He would kill if he has to, hell, he could kill just because he want to.
Alejandro must have smelled a betrayal so he moved out of plan and had Vanessa kidnapped. That monster got a wind of his true intentions.
This was his fault and that look in Vanessa's face killed him. It was his fault too. He became too careless and now he endangered all his goals.
"Are you fucking crazy? Don't you dare clock me you sonovabitch!" June head butted Alex on the chin which caused his grip to loosen on her. June stepped out of his reach and pointed a gun in his chest. Alex rubbed his chin and tasted blood inside his mouth.
"C'mon June don't make this ugly." He said, his mind already wandering off to Vanessa's running self. Damn, his need to protect her and be by her side would be the death of him. He knew she wouldn't accept him, the look of betrayal in her face was enough of a proof. He ignored the tightening of his chest. "I need to get to her."
Pain slashed in her face before she turned angrier. She flushed. "You have to kill her. If you can't I will."
Alex's face hardened, "No, you won't kill her. You won't kill anybody."
"She hates you now anyway! Get over it jackass. You and her? That can't be! And that's stupid, you know that! Now, let's finish this job and move on in our lives." June said angling herself to get out of the warehouse.
Alex made a move to get to June and in a split second she made a decision. She shot him on the leg and Alex yelp in pain. "Jaysus! I'm sorry babe but I have to do this. I have to..." June ran out of the warehouse and went after Vanessa. She was going to kill her.
"Fuck!" Alex grunted and stood. He limped and the wound hurts like fucking hell. Ignoring the pain, he ran after the women. "What a pain in the ass!"
He was slowed down but despite the wound he was still far more skilled than anybody else and not too long he gained on June who was sprinting like a banshee. Not far away he saw Vanessa stumble and roll, she was definitely weak. She panted and struggled to stand but her knees buckled down. "Shit! C'mon honey! Stand up!" He muttered under his labored breath as he ran faster with his wounded leg.
Vanessa stood and started to limp/run her way and she turned back. She saw both him and June gaining on her and that fastened her a little bit. His Vanessa is a fighter, that's for sure. She wouldn't just let herself die there. That offered a tiny, little, minuscule bit of relief to him. But that relief was as quickly squashed from his chest when June fired the gun and Vanessa screamed, falling in her face.
June shot her, fucking hell!
He jumped on June and they rolled on the hard asphalt of the highway down the edge. "Holly hell June! You shot her!" He roared, his anger boiling at the pit of his stomach. June opened her mouth to shout back. "No babe. You fucking shot that woman I told you not to! You shot her!"
June was hard headed and as stubborn as Vanessa. "Good! I just hope she dies!" She spat back.
"Fucking hell!" He bit out and pushed himself off June but she tugged him back. Tears shimmered from her eyes and Alex looked down at her impatiently. "Let me move, June. I am reigning at my anger at the moment. Don't make me lose it."
