ANN: WWIB is slowly coming to an end. The next chapter will go straight after their high school graduation, college, etc., which will be the last chapter. To be nice, I'll add an epilogue. Thanks for being w/ me on this journey of me becoming a better writer, I love every single one of you.
Cyrus looked up at TJ then back down at the table they were sitting at. He was getting ideas of how to avoid TJ by leaving The Spoon, but he got a text from Buffy as he casually shifted in his seat, slowly trying to get out.
Buffy 🏀: Walker, Jonah, and Amber are in on this. Don't even try.
"It's like she can read my mind, crap." Cyrus thought, as he got three more texts from each person.
Amber 😊: Not today, bud.
Walker 🎨: Stay in your seat.
Jonah 😂: Tyrus is real, Cy-Guy. That's all I'm gonna say.Cyrus sighed as he turned off his phone, and took another look at TJ.
TJ's eyes were red and puffy, with streams going down his cheeks. He was the one who broke up with him, why was he crying?
Cyrus was still mad and heartbroken, but he still loved TJ. Being the nice person he was, he decided to speak up first, calmly.
"Look, if you have something to say, then go ahead. I'll listen."
TJ gave him a smile, something that was necessary for a guy like TJ Kippen to do.
"He still cares." TJ thought.
Cyrus smiled back.
TJ was internally screaming inside from the fact that Cyrus still cared about him, and that he was willing to listen to whatever he needed to say. He remembered that they were still broken up, but this was a chance to get back together.
"I," TJ struggled to come up with words, "I'm sorry, just for everything I did earlier. Dad dying got to me so much, and I didn't know what to do. I didn't want you to see me in so much pain, so we broke up. I'm so sorry, Cyrus." TJ's eyes teared up as he said those last words.
Cyrus was speechless, and didn't know what else to say, so he initiated the first move.
He moved to the other side of the booth where TJ was sitting, and held his hand as he leaned his head on his shoulder.
Buffy walked through the door.
"Project Lemon Boy was a success," She whispered into her walkie talkie.
Cyrus and TJ made eye contact and smiled at each other. They both felt very happy. In TJ's case, it was for seeing Cyrus. In Cyrus' case, it was for seeing TJ. The feeling was mutual, but they didn't know how to express it.
Cyrus spoke up. "You know I can't stay mad at you, scary basketball guy." He smiled.
TJ replied, as he pouted; the exact same one from when he was pushing him on the swing. "You know I hate that nickname."
Cyrus looked at TJ, then pinched his cheeks. TJ did the same thing, as they both started to blush.
"You're cute." TJ whispered.
"No, you're cuter." Cyrus argued.
TJ shrugged, before speaking again. "I'm so sorry for everything that ha-" He was stopped by their lips meeting, something that was needed by both of them.
"So," TJ started to sweat as they pulled away, "I may have ripped up the picture that we took earlier, any way we could get a replacement for that?"
Cyrus didn't hesitate as he took his phone out, turned on the camera app, and they took a selfie.
TJ had a backwards peace sign, while Cyrus was sticking his tongue out at the camera.
"I'll get this printed out soon, don't worry." Cyrus said, as he slid his phone back into his pocket.
"I don't have to worry. I'm with you." TJ replied, before kissing Cyrus' cheek.
TJ continued. "Does this mean we're dating again?"
Cyrus laughed, before answering. "Umm..."
"Yeah, of course we are."
TJ decided to celebrate by literally getting out of his booth, and bounced around. Cyrus couldn't keep his laughter to himself, before he cracked up.
Nobody cared about how stupid TJ looked, surprisingly.
TJ sat back down and gave Cyrus over 20 pecks on his cheeks, (trust me, he counted), before giving him a tight hug. Cyrus, being the unathletic person he was, he couldn't breathe.
"T-T-TJ, I-I c-can't-t b-br-breathe," he said in between breaths.
TJ gladly let him go before giving a sarcastic "oops".
The couple got up from the booth, and looked at each other once more.
"I love you." TJ whispered into Cyrus' ear.
Cyrus got onto his tippy toes and whispered into TJ's ear. "I love you too."
Cyrus fell back on the floor, due to the height difference they both had. TJ had him on his back, as he gave Cyrus a piggy back ride, as he held his hand at the same time. They walked out of The Spoon smiling their faces off, as they walked to the park.
Once they got to the park, Cyrus got off TJ's back, astonished that he was able to last that long. He remembered the time before Buffy moved, where they were all covered in mud.
TJ smiled at Cyrus. "Let's go on the swings."
Cyrus nodded in agreement, as they both started to swing.
They both laughed, as they started to sing these words at the same time.
"Legs go up, legs go down. That's how we make the swing go round. Drag your feet, you go slow. The more you drag, the less you go."
They continued to sing and chuckle at each other, before TJ stopped.
"Jeez, you're such a creative guy. I'm so lucky to have you."
Cyrus got up, and as he got up he was surprised by TJ suddenly kissing him. It was one of the best kisses he was given, and it felt amazing. As they pulled away, Cyrus was so shocked that he fell back onto the swing, blushing like an idiot, smiling at TJ, who winked back at him.
"That was exhilarating." He muttered.
"You want another one?" TJ asked, smiling.
"No thank you!" Cyrus replied, crossing his arms.
"Mmm, too bad." TJ said, pouting, as he gave Cyrus another kiss.
