In 1967, while driving back to Memphis Elvis buys a farmhouse. The property owner, jack Adams, asked $437,000 for the house, cattle, farm equipment, and 160 acres of land.

Elvis wasn't really one to negotiate or wait for anything he wanted. He agreed to the price, and within a day or so, he and his entourage began moving in.

It was rechristened the circle G Ranch the ("G" for Graceland) according to most, though some say the "G" was for Elvis's mother, Gladys.
