That time Elvis karate-kicked a gun through a Rare Guitar...

During a recording session at Nashville's RCA studio B in June of 1970, a member of the gospel group the imperials wondered aloud if Elvis could disarm an armed assailant.

The session forgotten, Elvis asked Red West, to get his gun. Red West unloaded the pistol and pointed it towards Elvis. In the middle of a fully set up studio B....Elvis does a roundhouse kick that sends the gun flying.

The pistol flipped end over end, connecting with the back of musician Chip Youngs special order, 1967 classical guitar, which was leaning against one of the studios baffles.

The barrel of the pistol punched a thumb sized hole in the Brazilian rosewood just a few inches from where the guitar body meets the neck.

Elvis offered to replace the guitar or get it fixed, but chip young was like, "now it has a story. It's probably worth more now than it was before," so he kept it as it was.
