See You Later

Luke and the boys were leaving for their tour today, my mother rushing around around the house. She had cried while saying she was proud of Luke. Of course, Luke being Luke, told her to go with them. Mum didn't want to leave me alone but I was fine with it. Time to myself and I can even have Lydia and the girls over.

Michael tapped my arm and pointed upwards. I took his signal as, "Go upstairs." I slowly turned and walked up the steps. Why?

Michael followed moments later, saying he had to pee. I waited at my door frame for him to come up and soon enough I saw the white hair upon his perfect head. I liked the white the best.

He closed the bathroom door loudly, while he was outside the door, tip toeing to my room. "Don't forget me." he whispered, hugging me tightly. I chuckled, "Michael it's only a few weeks."

"A lot can happen in a few weeks. I just don't want you to move on." he said, more serious than expected. I blinked a few times, "Michael, I could never move on from you. I'm going to FaceTime you every day and I'm going to text you and call you, and then before we know it you'll be back." I said, my arms wrapped around his neck.

He looked as if he were going to cry, his smile faltering continuously. "Fuck, I'm going to miss you." he whispered, bringing me back in for another hug. He pet my hair as I listened to his heartbeat, thump thump thump thum-

"I love you, Madison." he said into my hair, for the first time ever. Love was a strong word and I never used it much but this time I knew for sure that it was what I wanted to say and that I meant it. "I love you, Michael." I said, a tear finally dropping from my eye. I didn't want to cry in front of Michael, or anyone really. Right now, I had no control. I cried silently into his shoulder before pulling away. He looked hurt to see me cry. "You're so beautiful. Even when you're crying." he said, lifting my chin. I laughed, wiping my eyes.

"Well, I guess this is goodb-" "No, that's not what this is. It's just a... see you later. You'll be back in no time." I said, hugging him again. As we pulled back, he caught my lips, kissing me for the last time. It was short and sweet, making me want more but also breaking my heart. He pulled away, smiling sadly as he ran down the stairs. I waited a few moments before following.

The boys all had their bags and suitcases ready, the SUV pulling up outside our house. Ashton was hugging Lydia, whispering something to her as he played with her hair. She was in hysterics. Her body shook with sobs, repeatedly saying "please don't go" like a mantra.

I turned away, hugging Calum. "Be safe okay?" he said to me, kissing my forehead. Although Calum did like me, he had a protective brotherly side, which was the side I liked. "You too." I said, pressing my lips to his cheek. He blushed wildly as I moved on to Luke. I hugged him, " I'm going to miss you, loser." he laughed, rubbing my back. "I'm going to miss you too." I smiled.

I moved onto Michael, having to make it seem like I hadn't talked to him. "See you later, Michael." I hugged him tightly, not wanting to let go of him. I pulled back, him smiling at me. "See you later." he said back, grabbing his bag and following the other boys to the van. Their stuff was all packed in the trunk, all hoping into the car. Michael glances back at me, waving and flashing a sad smile. I waved back as he sat in the car. The engine started the same time my heart dropped, fuck. They began driving, Michaels window opening as he blew a kiss to me. Twist the knife. I covered my mouth from sobbing, waving back. A tear slid from his eye, his hand quick to wipe it. And then they were gone. And then I was able to break down without anyone seeing. Not only my brother, but my boyfriend and my best friends just left for almost 2 months. Great.

The door opened, trying to compose myself so the person didn't see me crying. "Let's go inside, babe." Lydia said sadly, lifting me from the stairs and taking me to the kitchen. I pulled out my phone as Lydia made us tea.

To: Mikey 💘🍕

I miss you already :(

Moments later I got a text back:

From: Mikey 💘🍕

Tell me about it, trying not to break down in front of the boys, I love you so much it hurts :(

His text made the tears come back for another round yet not as harsh.

To: Mikey 💘🍕

I love you more.

"Babe, stop crying. Here's some tea and a cookie." Lydia said. I had never seen her cry before in my life but she was a mess. Ashton was basically all she had, other than her dog Prince. Her family never contacted her after she moved out and she didn't contact them so they just stopped talking.

From: Mikey 💘🍕

No way ;)

"Thanks mom." I teased, biting into the cookie.

To: Mikey 💘🍕

yes sir ;)

Being so far from Michael will be hard but I guess I'll be okay, with his help. I have Lydia and my mom and other friends.

I'll be fine.

Or so I hope.
