Jihoon's POV

I'll be there for you

Lie number 1.

I've heard that a thousand times but it all ends up with the same thing, and that is people leaving you.

I've accepted that fact. The fact that they'll eventually leave you. I knew they were anyways. I just don't get why I chose to stick with them when if in the end, they'll be out of my life.

I'm just hurting myself. I'm stupid, but you can't blame me. I believed them. I trusted them. And that's the biggest mistake I've made.

Flashback

"Jihoon! Why are you crying?" Soonyoung, my best friend, asked me when he saw me in the clinic.

"I-I.. M-my classmates b-bullied me.." I replied, almost choking because of too much sobbing.

"They what?!?!" He angrily shouted after he knew I got bullied. I knew this would be his reaction that's why I was afraid to tell him about this.

"Tell me who bullied you! They can't do that to you! No one should hurt you!" And again, he said those while shouting.

Soonyoung's been my friend eversince. He's always the one right there with me. He's always right there to save me. He was always there for me.

"E-everyone i-in my c-class. T-they made f-fun of m-me." I replied as I continued crying.

"I can't let this pass. I'll give them all a lesson!" He firmly replied, while clenching his fist.

"But S-soonyoung.. You.. Y-you're just o-one. Y-you're g-going against m-my whole c-class.." I said, still stuttering because of too much crying.

"And so?"

"Are y-you.. A-are you s-sure about t-this?" I asked him while looking at his eyes.

"Yes. I'll do everything for you. I'll do my best to protect you too. I'll always be here for you." He hugged me as he said those words; and for once, I felt genuinely happy even though I got bullied.

End of flashback

That memory was clear up until now. It was the time I heard the first lie I was to experience.

Soonyoung, where are you now? You said you'll be there for me, but how come you're nowhere to be found? What happened? What happened to the words you said that I once believed in?

You just made me your fool. You made me trust you. Now you caused me to break that trust I once gave you, liar.
