"Here, you can change into this is you want. I think it'll beat an alcohol- soaked dress." Lauren offers a hoodie and pair of sweats to Camila from the back of her car.
"Thank you." Camila happily accepts the dry clothes and immediately starts to change in the dark parking lot. As she pulls the hoodie over her head, she notices Lauren's awkward demeanor and her lips naturally form a smirk.
"Yo Ralph, what's up with your girl? She's raiding the bar and I don't think she's going to be able to stand in a few minutes." Dinah came running up to Lauren, only noticing the other girl as she gets close. "Oh, hey Camila, glad you came by." Her eyes carefully examine the two women in front of her. "I didn't know you guys were talking again."
"Lucy is on her own tonight, I'll get her an Uber but I honestly don't want anything to do with her tonight." Lauren responds, slightly guilty because her fiance is getting trashed at her friends' wedding. "What happened? You guys never fight."
"Yeah, well now we are and I'm not sure that talking to her right now will end well. I think I'm going to find a place to stay tonight and figure everything out in the morning." Lauren pulls out her phone and requests a ride for Lucy. "I'm sorry Dinah, this is yours and Mani's big day. I'm just not in the mood for any more celebrating tonight. Can I request a day with the newlyweds next week?"
"Of course you can! You see, I'd invite you to stay over tonight but I don't want to be involved in your couple drama. I don't know what happened, but I'm always here to back you up. Well except the next few days, because you know... Bow chicka bow wow." Both Lauren and Camila's eyebrows raise before all three girls start laughing.
"Whatever Dinah, you have a wife waiting for you. I'll figure everything out, you go have fun."
As if on queue, Normani walks up to Dinah and grabs her hand, dragging her back to the crowd of people inside.
"I think I'm going to walk home and pack a bag. I think a nice walk will help me clear my head a little bit" Lauren says before looking back at Camila who is seemingly entranced with the night sky. "I'm kind of done with tonight too. I was going to head out before all of that happened. Do you need a place to stay? I have a guest room and Sofi would love to see you."
"I can find a place to stay, it's not a big deal. How about breakfast tomorrow though, I'd love to catch up with you and Sofia. And I have to apologize for Lucy tonight, I don't know where that came from but I'm not going to let it slide."
"Sounds good, she'd love it. And don't hesitate to ask for anything, my doors are always open."
The two girls finish with their goodbyes and Lauren starts to quickly walk back to her apartment, hoping she can be in and out before her fiance gets there. Knowing how cruel she is makes Lauren's skin start to crawl. How could somebody be so bold to chase down and yell at another person like that for no reason? She has a lot of thinking and decision making to do. How is she going to approach the situation when she doesn't even want to look at Lucy any time soon?
After getting her clothes and necessities, she lucks out and books a last-second room at a decent hotel.
