The Loving Part 1

Lauren's POV

"You what? Didn't we just see your friends? Why is it so important to see them so soon again?"

After a while of thinking about it, I came back around to the idea of hanging out with my friends again during their little get together. It's at Dinah and Normani's place, but Lucy has a photoshoot in Spain this week and is leaving tonight. I just filled her in on the text conversation and my thoughts on the matter, I guess I didn't really think about her not being in town to come with me. I just saw it as one of the few times I can see all of my best friends at the same time. Apparently it came off a different way than I anticipated, judging by how defensive my girlfriend is right now.

"I don't have to go if you don't want me to. It's just so difficult to work out our schedules so we can all get together at once. I do see where you're coming from, I don't want to see Camila at all, but I figured I could put up with it as long as the girls help me keep her away." I can't help but notice how her face contorts for a second when I mention my ex's name. 

"No, I'm sorry. I overreacted Lauren. I just really don't feel comfortable with you being around her at all, especially if I'm not there for you. You can go if you want to, I know Dinah and the girls will keep an eye out for you." She takes my hands and looks at me, "Because I love you and I trust you." She says before kissing me. 

"I love you too, babe. I will probably be texting you all night, every night you're gone and keeping you updated anyways."

I just talked to Lucy and we decided that I'm going to come to the thing at Norminah's place. She's going to Spain for a shoot, but I figured it's one of the few times I can hang out with you guys

I still find it funny how you have to ask permission to go anywhere without her

If you listen very carefully, you can hear the distant sound of a whip cracking
