That Summer Day

Chapter 9

 (The others soon left the restaurant and went on their own adventures.)

- Travyln -

   Travis and Katelyn were walking down the streets looking at the shops and attractions the place had in store for them. While walking, Travis came across a comfy looking sweater that had a design that Katelyn would like. 

"Hey, I want to get something. Could you wait a while?"

"Uh...Sure, I guess."

    Travis headed into the shop and asked if he could buy it. The shopkeeper said he could and it was the last one in stock so he was in luck. Unfortunately,  It costs almost half of his savings but for Katelyn, Travis was willing to spend his money on whatever gift he could give her. He bought the sweater and it was neatly packed into a plastic bag with a tiny bow tied on it. When Travis came out, Katelyn was leaning against the big glass window, displaying clothes.

"Got what you needed?"

"Yeah."

"Who's it for? Or it's for yourself?"

"Uh...Myself...Yeah!" 

"Ah...Well, let's get going."

"Right"

    The two continue on their way, exploring the island. They even sometimes stop for a snack break along the way. Moments later, they come across the claw machine shop and it was full of claw machines and many people playing on them. Katelyn, of course, was not into this sort of childish thing and wanted to skip it but Travis, however, wanted to get a stuffed toy for her, thinking she would probably like one and especially if he got it (He thinks). So, following Travis, they went over to a claw machine filled blue and white stuffed cat toys and started trying to catch one. After several tries, Travis finally managed to win one and gave it to Katelyn who blushed a little.

"Here Katelyn! You can have it!"

"M-me?!"

"Yeah! I caught it just for you! It's even in your favourite colours!"

"Uh...T-thanks..." 

    Travis gave Katelyn a smile. Katelyn's heart was warmed by the lovely smile he gave her. She just wished she could repay him somehow but she does not know how. Hugging the stuffed toy, they headed out and went on their way to explore more parts of the island. Travis was practically on cloud nine, not only did he impress Katelyn with his claw machine skills but he was also going to surprise her with something later.

-Garrence-

    Garroth and Laurence were out on gaming and snacking field trip. They went from shop to shop buying snacks and even saving some for later. While on their little adventure, Laurence thought about the sweet Garroth gave him, it was nice (especially when it was his BEST FRIEND who gave him the sweet). He also remembered the happy smile Garroth gave him when he accepted it, his reaction was kind of cute. He smiled remembering it.

"Hey, Laurence! What are you smiling about? Come on! The Arcade is just right around this corner!"

"Relax! I'm coming and we don't need to rush, we've got all day."

"Later, there'll be a lot of people. We better hurry up if we wanna try all the games out!"

"Okay okay, wait up will ya?"

   Laurence catches up to Garroth and they both went into the Arcade. It was so enormous and filled with all sorts of video games. The two immediately started competing again, seeing who has more points and who would have the most wins. They raced from game to game, unlocking levels and sometimes even finding secrete endings which they counted as bonus points. They, obviously, had lots of fun doing this. Playing till they tried all. A few hours, they finally played finish all the arcade games (Wow, they are fast gamers cuz I make them like that). 

"Whew! We finally did it!"

"Yeah..." Laurence said in between breaths.

"You okay?" 

"Yeah...Now, let's add up the points shall we?"

"Alright."

    The two counted their points and Garroth managed to win this time.

"Woohoo! I won!"

"Good job! This the first time you've actually beaten me! Well, in a long time."

"Thanks!"

"Still, I won't go easy on you next time!"

"And I'll make sure I'll beat you again!"

    After a wild time, they decided to head back. It has been exhausting for them, rushing around and straining their eyes playing video games. Along the way, they stopped for some ice-cream. 

"Hey, do you think that your brothers are okay? They seemed to have fought earlier."

"Nah, they're fine! When this happens, Zane will turn around and apologize to him. Vylad is also the type who doesn't get pissed off or upset easily."

"Mmm, if you say so."

 -Armau-

     The couple were walking together. Aaron did promise Aphmau an ice-cream and so he bought one for her. While walking, Aphmau got a phonecall from Zane.

-Phonecall-

"Zane?"

"Uh, yeah. It's me."

"Oh hey, what's up? What'd you call me for?"

"I wanted to ask you a favour."

"What do you need help with?"

"Well...I want to give Kawaii Chan this cute little kitten at the pet shop for her birthday. But since I want it to be a surprise, I thought you can help me by keeping it a secret and maybe rejecting her later? Cause I'm pretty sure she'll call you after this."

"Whoa whoa wait a sec! Are you saying, you're buying a gift for Kawaii Chan and you want me to join in and help you keep it a secret?"

"You could say that I guess..."

"Omg! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssss!!!!"

"Shhh! You'll make her hear you!"

"Sorry...Anyways, I promise to help you and I won't let her know of this! And also it's because I ship you two a lot and-"

-Phonecall end-

"Hmph, Rude!"

 "So what got you so excited?"

"Hm? Oh! Did you know that ZANE'S BUYING A GIFT FOR KAWAII CHAN?!"

"So?"

"You don't understand, Zane has never been this nice to anyone and plus he rarely buys a proper gift for anyone."

"Ah, I see." 

"I'm helping him keeping it a secret and it's going to be so cool!" 

"Can I help?"

"Sure! Just don't tell anyone."

"Okay."

     Later on, she got a phonecall from Kawaii Chan and rejected her. Still, she tries to contain the excitement she had in order not to ruin the surprise. It was wonderful news for Aphmau and the couple would have to be careful in not spilling the beans till the Neko's birthday, it would be a fun experience for them.
