"This has to be a god damn joke." she growled as she parked the now steaming car. She sighed heavily as her head fell against the steering wheel before she reached for her cell phone that was tucked away in her purse. "Just my fucking luck." she cursed as she got out of the car.
Angel Rivera had made her way to California for a fresh start from New York. She had busted her ass off to save enough money for the trip and even landed a decent job in a little town called Charming. She had thought that a town named Charming would be a great place for a fresh start. So she packed up everything she could and started her trek across the country. It had taken her a little over a week, something she hadn't planned. Between her car over heating to getting lost more than once, she was ready for this trip to be over.
She let out a groan when she popped the hood of her car and could see that the water pump had official bit the bullet. She slammed the hood back down in a huff and began kicking the tire of the old Ford. She was so engrossed in taking her anger out on the old beat up car that she didn't hear the sound of a truck pulling over to the side of the road.
She was pulled away from her hissy fit by the sound of a man clearing his throat. She turned to see a strikingly handsome blonde man, smirking at her. She blushed as she clumsily straightened herself out and calmed herself down.
"You alright, darlin'?" he asked with a chuckle.
Angel felt the heat raise up into her face and tucked the stray strand of hair from her ponytail behind her ears. "Doesn't look like it, does it?" she asked. She knew the type of guy he was. The smooth suave guy who always got the girl. She shook her head at her brassiness. "I'm sorry. Just frustrated."
He nodded and smirked. "No worries." he said as he looked her over. She was gorgeous. Light tan skin, big dark eyes, long straight black hair and tattoos covering some of the skin on a body with curves in all the right places. "I can get a tow for ya and I can take you to where ya gotta go if ya want."
"That would be awesome, but I can get a cab from wherever you're towing it to. I have all my shit in there and I know this is gonna sound really horrible, but I'd rather stay with my stuff." she said.
"It's all good, darlin'. I'm Jax by the way." he said as he took out a pack of smokes.
"Angel." she said as she looked him over. "So you think I could get one of those from you?"
He smirked and handed her the pack as he pulled his phone out and called TM. She lit the cigarette and looked at her phone for the time and sighed heavily. She was to meet her property manager in an hour to get the keys for the apartment she had managed to find. She cursed and looked over to Jax as he hung up hi phone. "That ride still on the table?" she asked.
He smiled, "If that's what you want. What changed your mind?"
She sighed, "I have to meet the property manager in an hour and I really would like to get the keys to my apartment." she said with a chuckle.
Jax nodded and went to the trunk. "Open it up and we can put your stuff in my truck." he said. She smiled and did as he asked as she flicked her cigarette out onto the road.
"I really do appreciate this." she said as she popped the trunk and grabbed the bags out of her back seat.
"It's not a problem, darlin'." he said with cocky grin. They loaded up the truck and headed into Charming.
They pulled into the small apartment complex and met the property manager with five minutes to spare. She signed her lease and took the keys from him, heading back to the truck to find Jax on a call. She took a couple of bags out of the back of the truck and waited for him.
