A loud bang on her door woke her from a deep sleep. She cursed as she rolled out of bed and grabbed the gun she kept in her night table. Stumbling down the hallway, half asleep, she heard another bang on the door along with a familiar voice yelling on the other side. She rolled her eyes as she let out another yawn.
Opening the door, she was met by three familiar bikers standing on her front step. “What is it now?” she asked, opening the door wider to let them in.
Jax, Happy and Opie walked through the door and immediately made themselves comfortable. “Just need a place to lay low for a bit, darlin’” he said, kissing her cheek.
“Great.” she mumbled to herself. She kicked Happy’s boots off of her coffee table as she walked towards the oversized couch and flopped down. “What are you hiding from now? And am I gonna get an aiding and abetting charge?”
Jax smirked, knowing she wasn’t gonna take a simple answer. “Had a run in with a few Mayans. We should be good to go in a couple of hours.” he explained.
She groaned at the mention of the rival club. “Did you at least hide your bikes in the garage?” she asked.
“Oh so little faith in us.” Opie said, nudging her with his shoulder.
She looked at him with a smirk and raised brow. “You want me to answer that truthfully?” Opie feigned offense and stood from the couch heading into the kitchen to help himself to whatever leftovers that were in the fridge. “You’re lucky you’re my brother, shithead.”
“Yeah, yeah.” he called out waving his hand behind him.
“Surprised you’re alone tonight.” Jax smirked, leaning back into the leather chair across from the couch.
She shrugged, “Not all of us are horn dogs, Jax.” she quipped. “Besides, Juice is busy.”
Opie almost choked on his food at that statement. “Juice?” he asked, once he stopped coughing. “The fuck?”
She smiled wide. “What?” she asked.
“He’s an idiot.” Happy said, before Opie could say a word.
She glared at Happy and smacked him upside his bald tattooed head. Only she would ever get away with a move like that. “He’s not an idiot. He’s actually really smart.” she explained. “You guys would actually know that if you treated him like a patch instead of a damn prospect.”
Opie and Jax looked at eachother. “We don’t treat him like a prospect.” Jax argued.
“Really?” she challenged. “Who did you ask to clean up the mess from the last party?” Jax hung his head. “Better yet, who did you send to tail that tart, when his skill could have been used to track down Weston?”
“Okay,” Jax said, his hands up in defense. “Maybe we do still treat him like a prospect.”
She raised her eyebrows and nodded her head. “Listen, I gotta get some sleep. I gotta be at shop in the morning.” she said as she got up from the couch. “If you’re staying, don’t make a mess, and lock up when you leave.” She kissed each of them on the cheek before retreating back to her room and sent a quick text to Juice, warning him that Opie, Jax and Happy were now aware of their relationship. She smiled at his reply and settled back into her warm bed and quickly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning she was woken by a crash coming from her kitchen followed by a colorful array of cursing. She looked over at the clock and cursed. SHe had an hour left of sleep before the alarm was set to go off. “Jesus christ. I swear those three are like children.”
She threw on her hoodie and slippers and dragged herself out to the kitchen, seeing Jax trying to make breakfast. Opie was sat at the table drinking a coffee with a smirk on his face. “Mornin’ sunshine.” he said.
She glared at him and went for the pot of coffee on the counter. She glared at Jax as she grabbed the sugar bowl and placing two spoonfuls into her cup. She grabbed a piece of toast from the toaster and stuck it in her mouth and headed back towards her bedroom.
“How pissed off you think she is?” Jax asked.
“Still breathing?” Opie asked. At Jax’s nod, he shrugged. “Not that pissed.”
She smirked as she heard her brother in the kitchen. Truth be told, she didn’t mind having them there. She actually enjoyed having people around. As she walked through her living room, she looked to the couch o see Happy, half on it and half off. Smiling wide she slapped his ass, making him jump, causing him to fall to the floor. “Morning, Hap.” she sang as she walked back to the bedroom, locking herself inside.
Happy stood up from the floor quickly, rubbing his face. Looking over his shoulder, he saw her close the door and heard the lock click. He shook his head and chuckled walking to the kitchen. “No offense, man. But your sister is a pain in my ass.”
Opie let out a chuckle, “Welcome to the club, brother.” he said as he raised his mug in cheers.
Jax smirked. “She’s been like that since we were kids.”
“You good with her and Juice?” Happy asked, grabbing a cup from the cupboard.
Opie thought about it. “Could be worse. She could be with you.”
Happy gave Opie a glare and then smirked. “Don’t think I never thought about it.”
