I had been working at TM for a couple of years now and I was happier than I have ever been. I was close with the guys, and Gemma had taken me in as a daughter. After she found out that I lost my parents at a young age, she felt I needed a strong parental presence and I was so happy to finally have it. Although overprotective, my new family was the best thing that could have happened to me.
I was just locking up the shop when juice came running out of the club house. "Hey, you ready?" he asked with his panty dropping smile.
I laughed at his excited nature and nodded. "Sure am. I gotta stop and get the cake first." I reminded him. It was family dinner at Gemma's tonight and we planned to surprise Happy with a birthday party. He was gonna shit his pants and was probably gonna kill me in my sleep, but I loved the idea of trying to make him feel special.
When we got to Gemma's I smiled as I heard all the guys in the yard laughing. I went straight for the kitchen to help her get everything ready. "You're late," She said with a staunch glare.
"I know, but the cake wasn't ready." I huffed as I grabbed the tray of fried chicken from her to take to the table. Everything was done, we just had to lay it out at the table. "I'll make it up to you, I'll stay later and help clean." I smiled at her.
She smirked and gave me a quick hug as she kissed my cheek. "It's alright. The cake looks great. He's gonna shit." she laughed.
I giggled as she sent me off to get the boys. As I walked out into the yard, I see Happy with Juice in a headlock. "What the hell did I just walk into?" I ask with hands on my hips and a smirk.
Piney chuckles, "Juice called Hap an old man, so he's showing the idiot how old he really is."
I laugh and roll my eyes. "Dinner's ready. Don't make Ma wait."
The boys quickly followed in behind and took their places at the table. Jax had steered me to sit between Happy and Juice to play referee. Which I was all too willing to do. Dinner was great as always, everyone was in a great mood. The club was doing well, and everything was quiet. I lived for moments like this. Soon it was time for Happy's cake.
I smiled as Gemma and I cleared the dishes and went into the kitchen, "He's gonna kill me, ya know that right?" I saw as I light the last candle.
Gemma smirks, "I don't think he will, but be prepared to run."
I laugh as I walk ahead with a party hat hidden behind my back as Gemma walked behind with the cake. When we reached the dining room Juice quickly turned the lights off and I [placed the party hat on Happy's head as we began to sing.
He was livid. I couldn't hide my laughter as he saw the cake. It was a Harley Davidson cake and his demeanor changed a little. As we finished singing he blew out the candles and turned to glare at me. I was in for it.
I sat down beside him with big puppy dog eyes that he could never stay mad at and kissed his cheek. Happy Birthday, killer." I say with a cheesy smile.
He looked at me with softened eyes and smirked. "You know, you're gonna pay for this right?"
I nod and smile. " I have accepted the consequences." I laugh.
He wraps his arm around me as if he was gonna pull me into a hug, but grabbed a handful of cake and smushed it into my face. I bit back my laughter as I wiped what I could off and smiled wide as I smeared it all over his head.
That was it, all resolve was gone. The group took that as a lead to one of the most epic of cake wars. There was cake from one end of the room to the other. It was on the walls, in the carpet, on the ceiling, and mostly all over us. I looked over to see Gemma standing in the doorway with a smile. She walked into the room and just as she was about to speak, Jax threw a huge piece in her direction. He meant to hit Juice. However it landed right into Gemma hair.
We all stopped what we were doing, waiting for the inevitable. She stood quietly, he face expressionless as she dragged as much as she could out of her hair. "You little shit." She said softly, taking what she had dragged out of her hair and walked over to Jax. She smiled as she smeared it down his face. "Clean this shit up." She laughed as she walked out of the room.
We all broke out into laughter as everyone looked around to see the mess we had made. "Wait," Jax says. "Where's Piney?"
We all looked around and didn't see him anywhere. Then Happy nudged me to look down. There was Piney, hiding under the table, leaning against the leg, enjoying his piece of cake and his bottle of tequila which of course was equipped with a straw.
