"Status report, over..." my earpiece buzzed. "Status report, now! Over."

"Reporting status," I held onto a button on my earpiece as I ran, ducking as a bullet fired over my head, "Target down."

I sharply rounded the corner and ran up several flights of stairs. I managed to kill the target for this mission, but the alarm buzzed and I was almost ambushed by a gang of security guards. Footsteps echoed behind me and I kept climbing, not looking back.

I slammed into the door that led to the rooftop, effectively busting it open. The cold night winds swept across my cheeks, I felt the adrenaline surge. Rushing to the edge of the building I see that no police cars were here yet, no wailings of sirens could be detected in the distance.

"FREEZE!" shouting of the guards could be heard far behind me, I don't pay them any mind and jumped from the tall building with no hesitation. The rush of wind is almost surreal, I found it enjoyable because for a few seconds it made me think of nothing else, that it was only me in this world.

I landed safely on the top of another building after rolling to a stop and then kept on running, they can't see me now in a night as dark as this, I practically blended in with the shadows. My all-black suit and mask kept my identity hidden, my footsteps when running were quiet as a mouse.

Scaling down the side of an apartment building, I landed in a dark back alleyway, having no trouble whatsoever in walking through the pitch black space because of my goggles that gave night-vision.

A man in a black suit came into view, standing in front of me. He stared right at me, his sunglasses gave off a warning vibe.

Does he really see me in this pitch-black alleyway?

A gun appeared in his hands and he fired it right above my head, it was a warning shot.

It didn't matter anymore if I was silently or not, he could see me, I bolted across and threw a punch to his face in which he dodged, he flipped me over in an instant and kicked me in the side. I threw him off and delivered a punch to his stomach, he stepped back and my next kick was on the side of his face, the impact broke his sunglasses. He caught my arms and I raised my leg, kicking him in the stomach which threw him against the brick wall, next to a dumpster that gave off a putrid smell.

It was a miracle that he's even still breathing after all these hits. I grabbed him by the next and gave a severe blow to the jaw, knocking him out completely. I heard an almost silent crack.

"Status report... over." my earpiece buzzed.

This time I replied immediately, "Report from Apodemia, coming to the vehicle, over."

It wasn't until I was in my cell that I took off my vest and saw a small microchip that blended in with the black material. "Fuck," I mumbled, recognizing exactly what is it, I placed it in between my fingers and crunched it in half. So that's why the man gently struck my back, I should've been more careful.

Fear rose in my chest, I would surely be killed if they found out, and by they I meant HYDRA. I practically let someone track me to my location, they could be here and bomb the base any minute.

My hands reached up to my ponytail and tugged on it.

"Замечательный (Wonderful)," The commander came in front of my cell, "A job well done, Asset Seven."

"C удовольствием, сэр (With pleasure, sir)," I said in a confident tone, not wanting to seem suspicious, I fisted my hand to hide the cracked GPS tracking chip.
