The car ride wasn't eerily quiet or awkward, but assuring and rather productive. Ms. Hill brought the car to a stop because of the red light, her fingers gently tapping on the steering wheel.

"What are their names?" I asked Ms. Hill.

"Mary and Jack Bennett."

The name Mary hit me hard, bringing back memories of me severing Mary's throat in the HYDRA facility. They obviously aren't the same person, but the same name.

I pressed on, "Any information on the couple?"

"Both have steady a job and were not blessed with children so they wanted to adopt. Mary Bennett is age twenty-seven, occupation is a surgeon. Jack Bennett, age thirty-one, occupation a businessman."

"What do they know about me?" I questioned.

"That your name is Alice, the last name changed to Bennett, and that you were abused and neglected by your biological parents who died in a car crash," She explained, the light finally turned green and she sped up the car. "We went through this days ago."

"I know but I want to make sure," I rubbed my fingers on the seat belt around me, feeling the weird material, "What's my fake backstory?"

"Abused and neglected from age four, parents died in car crash when you were age ten, you were kept in foster care for about a year or two," she paused and turned the corner, pulling into a neighborhood, a gate block the entrance and Ms. Hill spoke with the operator before he let us pass through, she continued, "and now at age twelve you are going to be adopted by Mary and Jack. You can make the rest up, hobbies, friends, but don't let S.H.I.E.L.D or anything about HYDRA slip."

"I won't," I promised.

"Good." Ms. Hill parked the car in the driveway of a large house, that would probably cost a fortune. The neighborhood was like the one I use to live in before everything turned to shit, except that each house in this neighborhood looked like a castle, but that was just an exaggeration.

As I got out the car I unzipped my jacket and smoothed out my dress, which didn't really fit perfectly, the clothes were given to me this morning before we left S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters. Having been cooped up there for about a month in a guarded cell, finally having found someone to adopt me and now I'm free, I think.

During that entire month, I read and learned about everything that happened while I was absent from society, a good three to four years of information. The attack on New York, the Avengers, Iron Man, genius billionaire Tony Stark who is actually Iron Man, Norse gods, aliens, are these even real?

Well, not that I can say much. Reality is reality. People just don't believe it because they're scared of the truth.

Ms. Hill held my hand as we approached the doorstep, she rang the doorbell and we waited in front of the big double wooden doors. Ms. Hill was acting as my nanny or caretaker, whatever her role was on the papers.

"Just take it easy, okay?" Ms. Hill cooed, noticing that I was nervous.

"Yeah," I nodded, totally not nervous at all even though I'm beginning to sweat.

The door opened to reveal a blue-eyed woman with light brown hair, she adjusted her glasses and shook Ms. Hill's hand, introducing herself and beckoned her husband over. The man was tall and had a scruffy chin, black hair, and brown eyes.

Yeah, we can look like a normal family, people won't suspect a thing.

I shook both Mrs. and Mr. Bennett's hand, mustering up a smile. "Aww, come over here," Mrs. Bennett grinned, engulfing me in a warm hug, I felt the motherly love. A mother's touch.
