I put on my make up after dressing up. Chris promised me to take me to his parent on 1.30 p.m. I decided to wear a Florette floral printed halter neck maxi dress from Love, Bonito with a light grey cardigan and wear a pair of wedges. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Diane was standing at my bedroom door and scrutinising me.
"For God's sake, stop looking at me like that," I said as I put my mascara on.
"Something's really fishy between you two," Diane said.
I chuckled. "I have told you, we're not dating," I insisted.
She walked into my room and took a seat at the edge of my bed and watching me through the reflection of the mirror.
"I love seeing you like this," Diane exclaimed.
"What?" I turned my head to look at her.
"You're so mirthful, so happy when he's around. You guys really should go out together," she stood behind me and grabbed my shoulder. I just smiled hearing whatever she was saying.
After I put my lipstick on, I took my bag and I wore my wedges. Diane walked me towards the door and as I opened it, I could see Chris's car already appeared. I hugged Diane before I left her alone.
When I entered the car, I looked at Chris who also dressed up himself neatly—neater than usual because he is a neat guy. We didn't talk much on the car because I was busy scrutinizing the panorama outside along the road and he didn't bother me at all. We just heard to songs from any kind of genres and enjoy them as much as possible.
His house wasn't really far from mine. It was so huge, elegant and minimal. There is another house beside his house. Both of us exited his car and he reached for my hand to hold but I didn't pull away. He led me to his house.
"They're here!" I could hear Chris's mother yelled from the outside of the house. As soon as we entered the house, his mother greeted us, "There you are," she hugged Chris.
"Hey, mom," he kissed his mother's cheek. "This is Katherine," he introduced me to his mother.
"Hi, good to see you," I said.
"Good to see you too, my darling," she replied and she gave me a warm hug. "You must be exhausted after the trip," she pulled away from her hug and pat my arm.
"No, it was nothing. Just 15 minutes of driving," I smiled.
"I'm Judy Daniels, by the way. You can call me, Judy," we shook our hands.
"The girl has arrived?" I heard a deep, rusty voice coming from out of nowhere, probably Chris's dad.
"Grace, that's my dad," he pointed out at a man who was using the automatic wheelchair that coming towards us.
"I'm Louis Daniels," he said, letting out his hand.
I reached for it and I replied, "I'm Katherine, nice to meet you."
We pulled away from our hands and then Judy walked us to the dining room, where all the meals have been prepared and decorated so well.
"Wow, this should be in a museum," I exclaimed as I took a seat beside Chris at the dining table.
"Oh, it's nothing," Judy took a seat in front of me. "Just fresh Atlantic salmon cooked in an oven bag with fresh julienne vegetables, extra virgin olive oil, herbs and spices served with macaroni pasta with marinara sauce," she grinned.
I was so shocked. "Well, my usual is just baked potatoes and chicken breast," I chuckled and Judy laughed.
"Enjoy this, honey. I don't cook every day," she said.
