Donkey was at home with his kids. He heard the news about how Shrek got arrested, he knew that Shrek was innocent. Donkey knew Shrek would NEVER do that to his wife. He had motive though. Even if Shrek did kill his wife, Donkey would forgive him. To a normal donkey, forgiving the person that killed your wife seemed crazy. The power of love is strange thought Donkey.
Donkey realized, he would need help to get Shrek out. Donkey didn't know any ogres, he knew that a normal lawyer would also be racist towards Shrek. "Racist scums." Donkey spat out with disgust. Then a lightbulb went off in his head. I could be his lawyer! thought Donkey.
Meanwhile in prison
After the incident with the thiqq bod Shrek went back to his cell for a dramatic exit. "What. Were, You. Heckin'. Thinking." said Gingo, his face was red with rage. "Wot's the matter?" asked Shrek, fluttering his eyelashes to look innocent. "Don't try to fool me," began Gingo "you did the one thing I told you not to!" Shrek hung his head down in shame. Shrek really wanted to get out. "These people will tear you apart." said Gingo.
Shrek jumped on his bed.
The bed broke.
So did Shrek's heart.
