31st of October, 2014

It was Halloween. Meaning candy, costumes, parties, and drinking; a lot of drinking. That is what my night is supposed to consist of tonight, minus the alcohol going into my system. Aisling had the whole day planned out for the four of us so I didn't have time to see my sister.

I was bummed that I couldn't take her trick-or-treating for the first time in years. I couldn't even see her put on her costume. But sacrifices had to be made for her. Even if it meant sacrificing our time together. It sucked but it was reality.

Zayn and I were put in charge of decorating the front gate so kids didn't miss the house. They obviously weren't allowed to pass the gate but Aisling still wanted candy to be handed out tonight. Which is why she and Irena have been gone all morning to pick up last minute goodies. We were going to leave them with the guard so that we could go to a party tonight.

As I struggled with the fake spider webs, I heard a car coming up behind me. I turned around to see Aisling and Irena. I looked at her through the front window and smiled, waving at her. Irena had a smirk on her face and I watched her say something to Aisling; earning a smack on the arm. I chuckled and stepped away from the gate so Sean could let it open for the girls.

Aisling drove a few metres passed the gate and parked the car. She and Irena walked around to the boot of the car and started sorting candy into giant Halloween themed bowls. They took them into the little room where Sean was sitting and watching us before coming out to help.

Irena went straight to Zayn and Aisling smiled. She made her way to me and sighed. "How's the decorating going?"

"It's going pretty well, actually. I can't really work with this fake web stuff, though. Usually Greg is the one decorating the house and parents would sort out the candy while Kerrigan and I readied our costumes." I smiled, finally getting a hang of the web. I handed half to Aisling and she smiled, helping me out. We heard a scream come from Irena and saw Zayn taunting her with a fake spider. I laughed and went back to what I was doing. "You know, I don't even get to help her dress up this year."

"I'm sorry. That's my fault. You would have been taking her out tonight." Aisling pouted. I shook my head and smiled at her, letting her know that it wasn't her fault at all. "Will she be able to go out this year, though?"

"Greg is just going to take her to the houses on our street. She would be quite sad if she wasn't even allowed to do that."

"I assumed so." She said, smirking at me like she had done something.

"Aisling..." I trialed off, "What did you do?"

"What?" She shrugged, "I just assumed that she'd only go to the houses on that street. There aren't many houses so Irena and I got a bunch of goodies and went to fill her little bag. It's half full so she won't be bummed about the outcome tonight." I didn't notice that my mouth was slightly ajar. I sighed and gave Aisling a hug. She giggled and rubbed my back. "What was that for, Niall?"

"Just, thank you. Uhm, you probably made her night." I smiled, pulling back. "I'm going to say thanks to Irena, too." I finished the last bit of my decorating before I made my way towards Zayn and Irena. She turned and looked at me. I opened my arms and gave her a tight hug. "Thank you."

"I'm assuming Aisling told you." She said before pulling back.

"I really appreciate what the both of you did for my sister. Very sweet and considerate of you."

"Yeah, well, unlike you, I don't always have something stuck up my ass." She muttered, rolling her eyes and walking off to help Zayn set up the jack-o-lanterns.
