"Fuck." I muttered, under my breath. I was rearranging my bedroom for the third time this week and I couldn't get it quite right. I laced my fingers through my hair and sighed. "Okay, if I switch the spots of the dresser and desk, maybe..." I whispered to myself but was interrupted by a voice coming from behind me.
"NiNi?" She whispered, causing me to turn my head. Kerrigan was standing outside my door with the doll I gave her. "Why are you talking to yourself?"
"I'm not talking to myself, Kerrigan," I muttered, mentally rearranging things to different areas of the room, "what do you want? I'm a bit busy." I snapped.
Since I broke it off with Aisling, I've been really irritable. Every little thing set me off and I snapped at everyone. Even Kerrigan. It angered me that I'd yell at my baby sister but the words and my tone would slip out so quickly, I was too ashamed to apologize for it.
"I heard you moving things around and I thought I could help in some way."
"Yeah, and rip open your stitches? I don't think so. Do you even think before you ask stupid questions?"
"Sorry, Niall," she whispered, "I just thought that since the wedding day, you've been in your room and you might want to hang out with me. Greg is always busy with Denise, making wedding plans."
"I'm busy right now."
"Okay, Ni. Sorry for bothering you." Kerrigan said, her voice cracking ever so slightly. I heard her sigh sadly from behind but I didn't dare turn around to see the look on her face. "And I think your room looks fine. Open the blinds and maybe you'll think it looks nice, too."
With that, she closed my bedroom door and headed off. I let out a puff of air and walked over to my window. I took Kerrigan's advise and pulled up the blinds. After staring out at the snow covered grass, I turned around and realized that all my room needed was some light. I liked it the way it looked.
There was a knock at my door and let out a loud, frustrated groan. "What? Who is it?" The door creaked open and Louis stepped inside. "What do you want?" I snapped.
"Hey, stop being such a snippy, pain in the ass." He glared, going over to the wheeled chair in front of my desk. He took a seat and stared at me. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"That doesn't concern you."
"Doesn't concern me? What do you mean it doesn't concern me?" Louis asked, sitting up straighter.
"Do you not know English? It does not concern you. My issue, not yours."
"When the fuck did this friendship fall into the 'I don't want to bother you with my issues' trap? We promised each other that no matter what it was, we'd share and resolve our problems as if we were one. What happened to the Niall that shared everything with his best friend since grade school?"
"He decided to grow the fuck up and not burden people like you with my life." I snapped.
"People like me?" Louis snarled. He jabbed my chest with his finger. "What do you mean people like me? We're practically brothers, Niall. Sure, we're not blood related but we are brothers. And you can't even tell me what's up your ass?"
"What ever, Lou," I rolled my eyes, "I don't need to waste my time explaining my life to you."
"Fine. You're going to be a piece of shit to me, that's totally fine with me. Mark my words, though. Next time I hear Kerrigan crying about that fact that her big brother was being a meanie, I won't hesitate beat that attitude out of you." Louis spat, making his way towards the door.
