I turned the key in my door and stepped inside calling my roommate's name immediately.
"Riss! Marissa!" I yelled. She didn't reply. It's not even that big of a dorm, I don't know why I was yelling. Maybe it was because I had the best day of my existence and it probably wouldn't get better than this for a while. I couldn't even focus in class. The teacher asked me a question about stress disorders and I replied with "Grayson Dolan paid for my croissant!" Now that I'm looking back at it...that could actually be quite dirty. But in the dirty sense, he wouldn't have to pay...if you know what I mean.
I put my stuff down on my bed and changed into my pajamas. No class for three days and nothing to do but study for one exam. Life is good. I sprayed my lavender mist around my room just to keep up the good (and kind of sexy?) vibes. I got out my computer and debated whether or not to share my experience with the Twitter world. I decided against it. I wanted to keep that magical moment to myself of him staring into my eyes...and my V-neck shirt. You know, in retrospect, I'm glad we paid the extra $15 for the push-up. Marissa finally came out of the shower in a towel and walked into my room.
"Were you calling my name?" she asked taking my expensive lotion and rubbing it on her face.
"That's foot cream," I responded and she looked at herself in the mirror, shrugged and continued.
"Whatever, you have smooth feet," she said and I laughed. "What were you going to tell me?" Before I could say anything she cut me off. "Oh! I forgot!" She walked into the kitchen and picked something up bringing it back to my room. "The security guard at the front desk gave this to me to give to you. He said and I quote 'Some foreign guy with sunglasses and an SUV gave this to me for your roommate.' That man has such a way with words. It makes my heart melt." I laughed and took the envelope. It smelled like paper and cinnamon...so I sniffed it for a second more and then opened it and pulled out its contents.
"You're shitting me right now," was all I said.
"What is it?"
"Riss, what day is today?" I asked staring at the fantastic rectangular object in the palm of my hands.
"It's December 3rd, why? You're scaring me. ARE YOU BEING DRAFTED?!" She was serious though...I gave her the 'You are a complete idiot' look and screamed really loud.
"I'm sorry I honestly don't even know where that came from and I'm a little embarrassed. It's just that I have a floor seat to the Dolan Twins show tonight." I just smiled a huge, ugly, reject smile and told her everything that happened that day.
"It's a good thing I didn't go with you today, I would have shit myself," she said.
"It's a good thing you didn't go because he would have liked you instead," I said under my breath. She shrugged it off and helped me choose an outfit for tonight. As I threw the envelope on my bed a tiny piece of paper fell out. It said:
I hope you can come tonight. Maybe it'll give you a taste of our future videos so you can start studying.
-Grayson
But what would I wear? I could wear a skirt but considering that I haven't shaved my legs in two weeks, that probably wouldn't be the best idea. I could imagine the twins faces if I showed up with a short skirt and legs as hairy as their scruffy beards. I'll pass on that one. Unless they want to turn it into a sexual "I'll shave you if you shave me" thing...jeans it is.
"Wait! What am I going to do with the ball of static fur I call my hair?" I stared at it in the mirror and picked up strands and tossed them around. My hair smells like a lavender breeze and a hobo...don't ask me how I know what a hobo smells like. It's a story I don't like to revisit. But if I had to say one thing about it, all I would say is: Truth or Dare champion over here.
