FIVE: ADEEK/TAJEAY

Ajeay was working on his computer in his office, after a while of doing the same thing and not making progress, he decided to take a break. He relaxed himself on his chair, facing the ceiling, going through his whatsapp, a message waiting for him from Tahira read "were you serious about dating me?" He sat up immediately, his eyes popped open in surprise of what he thought seemed impossible. He Immediately called her to enquire where she was, and after she told him, he took off from the office to meet her.

As he drove to her he remembered how she shut him down completely when he told her point blank what he wanted, because she was completely unwilling to hurt Abdulmaleek,
"I swear i have loved you from the beginning, but even after you guys broke up sometime back I asked you out, kika ki, kedai Abdulmaleek" he confessed, trying to convince her.

She was quiet, she didn't know how it was possible for her to date Ajeay after her relationship with Abdulmaleek. He was handsome, religious, smart, and very interesting to be around, but she just couldn't do that to Abdulmaleek. "I'm sorry!!! I can't do that to him, we dated for so long, I just..."

"He's married Tahira"
"It will still crush him" she replied pitifully

He watched her carefully, he saw the worry she was trying to hide as well as the emotions she was trying to keep down. "You love him" he concluded.

She looked up surprised at his conclusion "I don't"
"Yeah you do, and i perfectly understand. I will make you forget him" he promised.

He was still driving to meet her when he thought of how she refused him, it sirprised him how all of a sudden she wanted to date.

On the other side Tahira felt pushed to the extreme end of wall, she felt like she had no choice. Even though he didn't say anything of such to her, Tahira felt like Abdulmaleek called her a prostitute by he last sentence. She sincerely believed he told Adilah about them. What better way to show him even a prostitute can get a husband and live happily ever after, to make him feel worse than he made her feel, worthless!

She met Ajeay who was just outside, immediately she was close enough to hear him, he said "of course I was serious, you change your mind?" He didn't wait to exchange pleasantries, he just got straight to the point.

"Yes I have" she said sounding unsure, but Ajeay didn't care "Tahira nifa ba wasa nake ba"

She was quiet "Tahira?" He called her name.
"Yes! I know, lets give it a shot" she finally concluded.

"Ma Shaa Allah" he said, you could hear the happiness in his voice. After that they talked about other things, luckily, she and Ajeay had this connection of being able to talk to each other easily. It was easy for them to find something to talk about.

In the early evening just after the sun had gone below the trees, Abdulmaleek came home early, Adilah sat in front of the TV watching the Game of Throne from her laptop which was connected to the TV. "Hey bab..!!!" She said but her words tailed off when Abdulmaleek walked passed her without even looking at her.

She hissed loud "I wonder who that one thinks he is" she muttered. It has been like that with them since she called Tahira and Abdulmaleek tried to confront her but she completely overtook him, making everything his fault. He tried to make her believe that he and Tahira were done but she wouldn't, he was so pissed that he started giving her the silence treatment.

But today he was back early because he wanted to hang out with his friends. He took a fast shower and changed his kaftan to something more simple, a T-shirt and jeans.

Abdulmaleek in 'kananan kaya' as it's popularly called by Hausa people which refers to anything English wears, looks very macho. He was hotter than fire itself, he came from his room, walked passed her in the parlor and to his car.
