Junhui
The next day, I picked Nabi up from her house and took her to school with me. We got stares from everyone as we got out of my car and walked into our classroom together. "By the way," I say as I take my bag off and hang it on the hook on the side of my desk. "I wrote two other random ideas down for the homeroom competition. A car wash and your idea, a bake sale."
She nods and says, "okay, cool."
I take the notebook that father gave me for assignments and flipped to a new page.

~Second day of school. Very quiet but not shy.
I feel her trying to take a peek at what I was writing. I slowly close the notebook then put it back in my bag.
"Jun junior!"
I feel a slap on my shoulder which causes me to jump up immediately and hit the attacker back.
He rubs his arm and gives me a pout. "You didn't have to do it so hard!"
"Neither did you," I chuckled while stepping back a little then sat on the edge of my desk with my back to Nabi. "How was California?"
My best friend Joshua sighs, "so much better than here." Just like me, he was named after his father. But because he was born in the states, he was used to being called by his American name. When we first met that's what he used to introduce himself. I only called him by his Korean name when I felt like annoying him.
"With all those pretty caucasian girls, I bet it was," I teased. Neither of us were players or anything like that, we just liked to joke around like we were.
He grins. He then shifts his weight onto his other foot and tilts his head to the side. He nods behind me, towards Nabi and whispers, "who's that?"
I stand up properly and moved out of the way. "Choi Nabi."
She looks up from her phone. She had a half smile on her face but it slowly disappears when her eyes lands on Joshua.
Joshua smiles and offers her his hand, "hi, I'm Joshua Hong, class president of room 305, next door. Nice to meet you."
She doesn't take it and just stares back.
Joshua slowly takes his hand away. He then looks at me as if to ask for help.
I don't know why but I found it amusing. I had never seen Joshua get rejected by anyone.
"I better get going," he points at the door backwards with his thumb.
I nod, "yeah, I'll see you at lunch time."
He nods, quickly steals a glimpse at Choi Nabi who was now back to scrolling through her phone, then heads out.
I sit back down. "Why didn't you talk?"
"He was so good looking, I was speechless," she said in monotone.
That deflated my ego a little. Just when I thought there was finally a girl that didn't fall for him at first sight.

Nabi
The similarities were uncanny. That was definitely him. Hong Jisoo's son. My other possible half brother.
And here I was thinking Junhui and his father looked too alike. But there was something a little off by this Junhui. His features were a lot softer than his fathers'. I wonder what his mother looks like.
