Chapter 16: "Let me beat up the guy that will break your heart"

After Jared, Kyle and Zach left, Xian led me to his balcony where he set up a blanket fort for us. We laid next to each other while we talked and stargazed.

"I guess I helped you tick something off your bucket list," Xian said

"Technically I'm not sleeping under the stars but close enough," I replied

"You excited for the tour?" He asked

"I'm a bit nervous since the last time I performed with the band live...... It didn't really end well," I recalled the memory of Zach serenading Sky who walked out the gym that day.

"Yeah but I heard our homeboy isn't giving up,"

I sighed. "We all know how stubborn Zach can get. I just hope he doesn't hurt himself in the process."

"You really care about him huh?"

I turned my head to face Xian who was already facing me. "Are you getting jealous?"

Surprisingly Xian kept his poker face on. "What if I say yes?"

I rose up and said. "I should go."

Before I could leave, Xian grabbed my arm and stopped me. "Can I at least drive you?"

"Of course you can," I replied before we made our way downstairs

We made it to the living room and saw Mr and Mrs Nolan standing five feet away from us. Mrs. Nolan greeted her son with a peck on his cheek while Mr. Nolan patted his son on the back.

Mrs. Nolan noticed me standing next to her son and gave me a genuine smile. "It's nice to see you again Camila dear."

"What do my wife and I owe this pleasure of your visit Camila?" Mr. Nolan added with his Australian accent

"It's a long story Mr and Mrs Nolan but in short Xian took care of me after collapsing on the sidewalk while I got drenched in rain." I explained

Mrs. Nolan's smile turned into a concerned look. "Oh you poor thing, I'm glad my son was able to take care of you but please, Mrs. Nolan makes me sound well old. Just call Lauren."

"I'd love to chat more with you Lauren but I have to go home since it's pretty late," I explained and Mr. Nolan nodded

"We understand, isn't that right Lauren?" Mr. Nolan turned to his wife who looked disappointed.

"Well I can't really stop you from going but I hope we'll see our son's girlfriend in our home soon," Lauren added

"Mum, for the last time, Camila isn't my girlfriend," Xian explained in his Aussie accent that can only be heard when he's talking to his parents.

"What a pity, you two look adorable together," Laure replied which made Xian and I shrug. "Girlfriend or not you're always welcome here Camila. As for you Xian, drive safely."

"Yeah yeah bye mum, dad," Xian replied

I waved a goodbye to his parents before we made our way to Xian's car that was just in front of their house. Xian opened and closed the car door for me before walking around his car and sitting on the driver's seat. He turned the key on ignition and turned on the car's radio before he started driving.

There was an awkward silence before I decided to break it. "Thanks for today Xi."

I saw a hint of smile on his face. "No problem. I'm just glad you decided to do something not up your alley for once."

"Well, if I ever need someone to drag me into something not up my alley, I know who to call," I replied

His grin grew even wider. "Look at that, the good girl gets a taste of adventure and she's willing to pull another stunt."

"Hey Xian, can I ask you something?"

"Shoot."

"Why haven't you asked any girl to be your girlfriend after you know who?" I asked and Xian's grin suddenly disappeared

"I'm not really like Zach and the other guys when it comes to the whole 'dating' thing," He said. "I can deal with flings but after what happened..... I guess I don't want to be in a long term relationship."

"I get it. I guess you hate the love stuff a little more than I do," I said. "Just promise me one thing."

"Which is?"

"I'll be the first person you'll tell when you think you're ready," I said before Xian pulled up in front of my house. "Well this is me."

I noticed that something was bothering him so I hugged him for reassurance. "I swear but you have to promise me you'll let me beat up the guy that will break your heart."

I giggled. "Like that's ever gonna happen but I swear."

We stayed like that for what felt like forever........

I woke to the sound of soft knocks that suddenly errupted from my door. I groaned before I got up and opened the door. To my surprise, Skylar started crying before she made her way in my room. I closed the door and opened the lights before joining her on my bed. I took the tissue box from my desk and handed it to my cousin who gave me the slightest smile before wiping the tears off her cheeks.
"I-I don't know what I-I did to deserve this," She said before she started crying again

"Whoa what happened?" I asked

"Ryder. He he said he liked me then I saw him him....." Skylar trailed off which mad me even more concerned

"Sky, what did he do," I said through my gritted teeth

"I-I saw him making out with a girl in the bathroom at this party we went to," She said before blowing into a tissue

"Know what? That's it, he needs to learn his lesson," I said irritatedly

"What do you mean?" Skylar looked at me with her swollen eyes

"Ryder James won't be able to hurt another girl again," I replied
