Anyway, I won't keep you guys waiting any longer..... On with the story!C A M I L A
Xian closed his mouth and shoved his hands in his pockets. "Nevermind, let's go."
"C'mon Xi, is it that embarassing?" I teased which sparked a sly grin on his face
"That's a story for the next tour," He said before he started walking backwards
We were goofing around when I least expected it, a white van was speeding on the road behind Xian. Just before the van could hit him, I pushed him out of the way and stood in front of the vehicle that would hit me any minute now.....
Why does this feel like deja vu?
Before I could feel the impact of being hit by a vehicle, my vision went black.
****IN MY DREAMS, C A M I L A****
February 14, 2003
Oregon State HospitalI looked around my surroundings and realised that I was in a labor room where I stood frozen in place when I saw a couple who looked strangely familiar just a few feet away from me. The woman held a newborn baby in her arms while my dad looked awestruck while he played with the baby's little fingers.
"She is the best Valentine's gift I have ever received," She said. "What should we name her honey?"
"You can decide hon," The man replied
"Valentine sounds perfect for our little angel," She said
Suddenly, a two year old boy walked in the room.
"Mommy, Daddy id dat mi nu baby swista?!" The boy said excitedly before making his way towards his parents. "Whaz er mame Mommy?"
"Meet your new baby sister Val."
C A M I L A (Present Time)
My eyes sprung open and I suddenly had the urge to gasp for air. Just like my dream, I was in a hospital but instead I was sitting up on a hospital bed in a room with a stressed looking Xian who immediately rushed to my side.
"Are you ok Mila? Do you need water? Are you feeling well?" Xian asked stressfully
"Relax Xian, I'm fine but what am I doing in
a hospital?" I asked"You fainted when you saved me from getting run over by a van," He explained with traces of guilt on his face. "Why didn't you just let me get hit Mila?"
"I can't lose another person in my life Xi and besides, I'm alive aren't I?" I reassured him
He let out a sigh. "Just don't do anything like that again."
Suddenly, the door bursted open and Zach entered the room with a frightened reaction. "Holy shit Cam, what the hell were you thinking?! You could've died!"
He then turned to Xian with a cold hard glare. "And you, why did you let her get hurt?"
"Zach, bro, I didn't want this to happen either," Xian replied
"SHE COULD'VE DIED XIAN! AND IT WAS YOUR FAULT!" Zach growled
Xian then returned the glare Zach shot at him before Zach punched him on his left cheek. Xian paused for a minute before he punched Zach back. I yelled for them to stop but neither of them broke off the fight. The door opened and a nurse entered who carried a small tray of food.
"Stop this right now!" The nurse shouted and my two best friends finally stopped the fight. "This is a hospital for crying out loud! Can't you two gentlemen see that you are affecting the patient?"
"Sorry," They muttered
"Good. As for you Ms. Evans, your condition is getting better, you are extremely lucky that you did not get any severe bruises," The nurse explained. "Here is your dinner and please just tell our security if your visitors are disturbing you."
The nurse exited the room as Xian slept on the couch while Zach sat on the seat next to my bed. "Hows my lil sis holding up?"
"Don't get mad at Xian, I pushed him out of the way. It's my fault," I said quietly
Zach placed a lose strand of my hair behind my ear before he replied. "I didn't mean to punch him Cam. I got mad because I thought I lost my best friend."
"Thanks for your concern Z but I don't need a knight in shining armor, I can protect myself you know."
-
It's been two days since I got discharged from the hospital but I still can't stop thinking about the dream I had. It seemed like a dream but it somehow felt...... Real.
"Hello, earth to Mila," Chloe waved her hand in front of my face which snapped me out of my thoughts.
I found myself in the gym sitting next to Rye and Chloe with pieces of A4 paper scattered on the floor.
"Huh? What'd I miss?" I replied
"Principal James assigned us to prepare everything for the Winter Formal and we asked you for ideas but you zoned out," Chloe explained
"Isn't there another person working with us?" Rye asked
As if it was planned, the door bursted open and Ryder appeared with a smirk on his face. "Not bad for punishment."
