Chapter 34: The Reason Part 1

Hey fam😊 This chapter will be a bit shorter because there will be a Part 2.

Chapter 34: The Reason Part 1

C A M I L A

All eyes were on the famous Grammy Award winning rockstar that appeared before us. He's none other than America's top rating artist, Axel Miller.

"Hey, you guys are X4 rght?" Axel inquired as he scanned our stunned faces.

"Ye-Yeah we are," Jared managed to say through his nervousness. "I'm Jared, the drummer of the group."

Jared then signaled for the rest us to formally introduce ourselves. Xian went second and he practically fangirled when he couldn't stop talking about how awesome Axel's collab was with 6ix9ine. Meanwhile, Zach didn't seem to care that he met someone practically everyone else sees everyday on huge billboards. 

Don't fangirl. Don't fangirl. Don't-

My thoughts were interrupted when I was standing a foot away from him and he said. "And you are?"

"Camila Elizabeth Marie Evans," I got so lost while staring at his quaint pupils that I didn't even realise what I said.

He snorted. "Well nice to meet you Camila Elizabeth Marie Evans."

I tensed up and started babbling. "I mean I'm Camila or Cam or even Mil-"
"What she means is she's Camila, our lead vocalist," Jared stepped in. "Anyway, when is Mr. Price going to get here?" 

"My manager said he'll be here any minute now," Axel said in his modulated tone

A few minutes later, the famous Mr. Thomas Price appeared in a glossy blue tux. He beamed at the five of us which made the wrinkles on his forhead appear.

After the four of us introduced ourselves, the meeting/contract signing started with Mr. Price questioning everything Jared- who represented our road manager -said. 

Once the contract was signed, Mr. Price made his way out but Axel stayed behind with an uptight look on his face as he approached me. "Hey Camila, do you have plans today?"

I opened my mouth to say something but Zach rudely interfered. "She does and those plans are with me."

Luckily, Jared joined in just in time. "Guys let's celebrate at the diner, it's my treat."

"Great idea J let's go," I said a little too eagerly

After celebrating at the diner, Xian and I spent some time together which was sitting on dry sand while watching the calm waves. We were lucky that there weren't many people around because it would've been chaotic.

A powerful wind blew which made a bit of sand get stuck in my eye. I tried rubbing my eye but it made my situation worst.

"Look what you've done now," Xian held my chin and turned my head so that I was facing him. "Stop rubbing it."

"But-" I reasoned

Before I could finish my sentence, Xian swatted my hand away as his face inched closer to mine. "Xi, what are you doing?"

"Relax, I'm not a maniac," He replied before he blew my sore eye. "Better?"

I arose but all of a sudden felt uneasy. "Uh maybe we should go."

"Don't you think you and Zach need to make up first?" Xian said tonelessly

"We'll be fine someday," I insured. "You must be sick of me dragging you into my problems."

He gave me a comforting side hug. "I'll be here when you need me and I'll still be here even if you don't want me around anymore."

I returned his embrace. "Can we stay for a bit longer?"

"You read my mind."

It was around 6:30 pm when I got home from an afternoon with Xian. Connor sat on the couch while reading a book that was probably about science. Since he seemed busy, I went up the stairs as quietly as I can before going in my room.

I felt my heart jump a little when I saw a shamefaced Zach sitting on my bed. "Why are you here Zach?"

"I'm here because I realised that you're not a five year old anymore," He said with guilt in his tone. "I know you've grown but I have this urge of wanting to protect you all the time."

"What makes you want to be so over protective when it comes to me?"

"Cam, I think I-"
