Chapter 31: Stuck

Hey fam😊 Sorry for the looonnnggg delay, I kinda had second thoughts but a friend of mine reminded me not to give up so easily😊

Oh and from now on I'll only write about Cam's POV.

Anywayyy on to the story.....

Chapter 31: Stuck

Everyone was surprised to see Skylar standing proudly next to Dean James whose wrinkles started to show. The gymnasium fell silent as everyone stared at my cousin.

"Ahem, Mr. Parker kindly show Ms. Evans around," Dean James said in a raspy tone

Everyone's eyes then darted to Zach who suddenly looked confused. "Me sir?"

"Yes Mr. Parker, you are excused from your classes today," Dean James replied before everyone watched Zach walk towards Skylar with his signature grin nowhere to be seen.

"Everyone get back to work!" Our dance mentor shouted which made all of us get back to dancing.

Lunch was incredibly boring without Zach since there's a rumor going on that Dean James forced him to hang out with Skylar for the whole day. It does sound realistic since they sat opposite of each other three tables away from Chloe, Rye and I with their eyes glued to the food they ate.

"Shouldn't they be happy?" Chloe said while watching Zach and Skylar avoid eye contact. "I mean, they are still together.... Right?"

"Chlo, even if they just had a little fight or they really broke up we should just mind our business," Rye spoke up with a mouthful

Chloe let out a sigh before turning back to her tray of food that was almost wiped out by Rye. "Hey! I was looking forward to that pie."

Rye suddenly looked guilty before he pushed the plate with half of the pie left. "Quit whining, it doesn't look good on you."

Chloe's face lit up like a lightbulb. "It's got your saliva but I'll take it."

I swear, something's going on with these two...

The usual cafeteria noise suddenly fadded away when I started searching for someone in particular. I immediately stopped when I realised what a crazy thing I was doing.

Why are you looking for him?! He's so full of himself and he's such a playboy.

I stood up from my seat and walked towards the exit with my eyes glued to my phone.

Unexpectedly, I ran into a muscular stranger and the crash impacted me so much that I fell backwards instantly. I was expecting to hit my head but before I hit the ground, someone grabbed my arm and pulled me up.

"Hey thanks for-" I stopped myself when I saw Ryder looking down at me with a smirk on his face. "Let go of my hand."

"What was the T word you said?" He asked and I rolled my eyes

"I take it back," I replied. "Now let go of my hand before I give you another black eye."

He then let go of my hand. "You missed me huh?"

"You wish," I said. "What are you doing outside the cafeteria?"

"Looking for you," he replied with a wink

I shot him an irritated look. "Whatever James."

I brushed past him before walking as far away from him as possible. Not knowing where I was going, I got to a hallway where I could hear two people arguing on the other side of a wall.

The noise turned out to be from the chem room where the voices lowered down to hushed whispers. I was a foot away from the door where I have been deciding whether I should eavesdrop or not. I ultimatedly came to the decision to lean my ear on the door and try to recognise who those people are.

It took a few seconds for me to know who the two distinctive voices belongs to. The infuriated girl was Skylar while the more indignant boy was Zach. They were quarreling for ten minutes straight until Skylar spoke for the last time before a moment of silence broke.

I opened the door by a small crack which allowed me to see Skylar sitting on one of the blue desks with her hand tangled in Zach's brunette locks. On top of all this, she was desirously kissing him......

Jared called for a band meeting at his place right after the last bell rang. My only problem was the fact that I don't know how to drive yet.

I was going to ask Chloe or Rye if I could hitch a ride with one of them but both left the moment the bell rang. Zach wasn't an option either since he's MIA and it's possible that he's playing toncil hockey with Skylar again. Xian wasn't at school today and my two bothers left with their jock friends. The only option left is to walk two kilometers in the rain without an umbrella or a raincoat.

At the moment, I was shivering but still partly dry thanks to the eaves above me. I couldn't walk in the rain since it started hailing and the wind is growing stronger by the minute.

Great, I'm stuck here without any hopes of getting to Jared's.

"Camila?" A raspy voice called out
