Chapter 33: Replacement

Zach kept looking out the window to see if the ambulance has arrived while I started reading articles on what to do if someone is having a seizure. My heart started to beat normally when Sky stopped shaking and her eyes were back to normal.

Seconds later, she bursted out laughing which made Zach and I exchange confused looks. Once she stopped, she stood up and stretched before sitting with her legs crossed on Zach's bed.

"You guys are so easy to prank," She said

Zach looked at her with hatred. "Do you know how worried we were? Cam fucking called 911 coz she thought you were gonna die!"

"Why would you joke about something like that?" I asked

She stood up and stared right at me with her eyes flaring. "Can't you see? No one in this shitty world cares about me anymore!"

"That isn't true, Cam here still cares even though you're such a shitty cousin to her," Zach replied

"That's a lie! She took everything away from me! Everyone adored me but because of her," She pointed at me with so much pain on her face. "I lost you and you were the only one I had left."

For the first time in my life, I had nothing to say. I just stood there probably looking like an idiot in front of my cousin who clearly hates me.

I never wanted her to be like this....

Zach took a step towards me with a distressed look on his face. I couldn't bare to see both of them like this which is why I walked out.

Rye's house wasn't too far away so I decided to drop by. Since I've been to his house countless of times, I knew exactly where Rye hides the keys.

I crouched down in front of the withered potted plant and dug out bits of the soil until I saw a silver key. Once I've opened the door, I put the key back where I found it and let myself in. 

The moment I closed the door behind me, I heard two panicked voices upstairs. I was about to go up the stairs when loud footsteps errupted from the upper storey. Rye and Chloe then appeared in matching Fortnite pyjamas.

"Were you two..?" My eyes darted from Chloe to Rye

"No!" They screeched at once

"Ok...." I said unconvincedly. "Sorry to disturb whatever you two were doing. There's been so much going on with Zach and-"

"Wait, you and Zach?!" Chloe shrieked

"Chlo, I don't think she means it like that," Rye chipped in

"Ok then what's this thing with Zach?" She uttered

I explained what happened at Zach's house and everything else in between. Chloe and Rye's expressions changed so quick as I told the story. Once I finished, they sat by me and embraced me.

"What a biatch," Chloe ranted. "You want us to take that hoe down?"

"No Chlo it's fine," I replied

"Mil, you can stay at my place if you want," he proffered. "I don't think it would be good for you to see her just yet."

"It'll be just like our elementary days," Chloe quoted

I exhaled before looking up at my friends with a grin from ear to ear. "Thanks guys, I really needed a break from high school."

We all slept on the king sized bed of the guest room. Luckily, Rye's parents were away or else we wouldn't be able to be as loud as we were.

Chloe and Rye were fast asleep while I couldn't really find the right position to sleep. In additional to that, my phone kept vibrating which only means that someone or some people have been texting me late at night. Since sleeping was out, I grab hold of my phone and looked through the texts from Zach.

Before I could even finish reading his texts, his name popped up on my screen with the red and green phone symbols at the bottom. I answered his call and walked out of the room as quietly as I can.

"Cam do you know how worried I am about you? I called thirty-five times and you didn't pick up!" He bellowed. "Where the hell are you?" 

"I already told Connor where I am so you can stop over reacting."

"No, tell me where you are right now," he replied with his tone getting angrier

"I'm fifteen and I can take care of myself!" Was all I said before I hung up

****NEXT DAY****

Rye dropped me off at Jared's since he called another band meeting because I missed recent one. Everyone was there except for Kyle which was very unlikely of him.

"Where's Kyle?" I scrutinized

"He can't perform with us anymore," Xian remarked

"But why? He seemed fine before," I urged

"That was before!" Jared thundered which startled the rest of us. "Zach why don't you tell her."

"Cam, Kyle can't perform us anymore because he moved back to France," Zach exclaimed. "His parents found out that he joined a band instead of focusing on being a doctor."

"If Kyle's gone, how can we perform at those festivals?" I probed

"He said he found a replacement," Xian spoke up

"Who?" I responded

Abruptly, the door blasted open and a guy with jet black hair and crystal blue eyes appeared. He wore a black Off White hoodie, white ripped jeans and classic old skool Vans.

He's back......
