Chapter 9: It's Complicated
Z A C H
I gave my guitar to Xian before I ran off in the direction Cam took. I decided to take a left which led out to the back of the campus. I was frozen in place when I saw Cam frozen in position while she stood there watching her cousin and James sucking each other's faces.
"Cam!" I shouted at her which stopped the two making out and turned to me.
Cam faced me a second after Skylar and that d*ck did. "Zach?" Skylar practically whispered with guilt in her tone.
"Go make out somewhere else you two," Ryder gestured at Cam and I who both rolled our eyes in reponse.
"Sky, why were you making out with that d*ck?" I asked with anger in my tone
Skylar scrunched up her face in anger. "I can do whatever I want Zach."
"C'mon babe, let's go." Ryder slung an arm around Skylar's shoulders.
"You'll just get hurt in the end with him Sky! He's a freaking play boy!" I shouted at her but her face hardened even more.
"Wow Zach, I never knew that you're that clingy ex type," Skylar roasted me which left a burn emotionally.
"Fine. I'll leave you with that jerk but don't say I didn't warn you," I snapped back at her before I ran to the parking lot.
I sat on the driver seat and hit my fist on the steering wheel avoiding the circle in the middle which would let out a loud honk. I turned the key on ignition before I started to reverse and angled the front car at the exit of the parking lot. Once I was out of the campus parking lot, I decided to take the route to the place where I usually go to think.
What does she see in that guy? Why was she sucking his face? Why does she still hate me this much?
A million questions rushed in my head as I drove half recklessly on the road. I was glad when I saw a familiar forest nearby and parked on one side of the opening. Once I was out of my car, I locked it and started to walk on the pathway surrounded by bushes and tall oak trees.
It's been a few months since I last came to this place. This is also the place where Skylar and I confessed to each other at 8th grade. I introduced this place to Cam since we had to find a place to chill and just talk about the stuff we don't really talk about somewhere else.
A few minutes later, I finally reached my destination when I saw the bright and colorful meadow.

"I can't believe you'd do that to Zach of all people," I snapped at Skylar
I saw that faint glare forming on her face. "Why can't you just be happy for me Cuz?"
"I'm not telling you what to do Sky but just remember who really cares about you," was all I said before I ran back to the gym
Only Xian, Jared and Kyle were there which was likely since Zach and I were out for a while. I approached Xian who didn't have that wide grin on his face, instead he was frowning.
He grinned slightly at me when I was I was in front of him. "Hey Mila, where's our homeboy?"
My face dropped when he mentioned Zach. "I-I don't know. He had an argument with Sky and just took off in his car."
