So it took a while for me to upload this but college is a doooooozy. But I'm starting to think that I can bust out shorter chapters more often... would you be interested in that? Let me know!

Batting practice was largely uneventful, Gracie getting permission from Christian to take a boomerang of his BP and post it on her instagram story.

"Just make sure you get it from my good side!" Christian called out and stuck out his tongue, causing Gracie to laugh, posting the short video.

"Every side is you good side, dingus." Gracie smiled after his BP, standing kind of awkwardly.

"Dingus? That's a new one." Christian laughed and took her hand, sighing. "So I have to kick you off the field, but I put your tickets up at will-call, and I ordered some coffee and lunch for you. Just... come back to the clubhouse after the game? It'll be late, but I wanna take you out."

"Of course. Thank you." Gracie smiled a bit, following the instructions the security officer gave her, making sure to watch the game intently.

Gracie made her way to the clubhouse after the 5-4 walk-off win. She was unsure of what was going to happen after the game, but she knew she was going to keep up her end of the bargain.

"Gracie!" Christian grinned, still high from the win and wrapped her in a huge hug.

"Oh hello! You played so well tonight," she smiled softly, wrapping her arms back around him. "But you smell like sweat and outside," she scrunched up her nose. "Go change, I'll wait here."

"Wait wait. You're wearing a Braun jersey? Nope. Not happening." Christian finally saw what she'd changed into and went back to his locker. "Go to the team store and buy my jersey. I'll be done by the time you get back."

Gracie looked at the card in his hand and furrowed her eyebrow. "I can't take your credit card, Christian..."

"Yes you can. Now go on. Get the pinstripes," he smiled and winked.

Gracie sighed and took the card, biting the inside of her lip and making her way to the team store and obliging. She ended up settling for the men's pinstripes - she was taller than most women and her shoulders were broader. Plus the men's came in her size. She changed right away, going back to the clubhouse and waiting.

"Ready?" Christian flashed that winning smile, waiting for Gracie with Travis. "He's going to drop us off at my condo, but we're going straight to my car. I am starving." The way he said that made Gracie smile and she pulled a Cliff bar out of her bag.

"Eat. I'm sure you're just dying," she smiled softly, tentatively taking his hand and going out to Travis' car, legitimately shivering this time. "Alright, you win this time, Yeli. It's cold." Gracie rushed over to and got in the truck, pulling out her phone and seeing hundreds of notifications.

"Everything okay? Do we need to stop at your place before we head out?" Christian looked legitimately concerned, pulling out his own phone.

"Oh no, I'm okay," Gracie said with a genuine smile, putting her phone away and buckling her seatbelt. "Your fans are intense. They all love you a ton."

Gracie was smiling genuinely, unsure of what to do in this situation. No guy had ever really paid attention to her, let alone no guy as smoking hot as Christian fucking Yelich. She was certain that this was all just a dream that would end and she would land in Milwaukee, having just taken a nap on the short flight from Minneapolis. Until then, she decided, she'll just enjoy the dream.

It was a short ride from the stadium to Christian's condo and for that she was thankful - each passing moment made her more and more anxious about how the evening was going to pan out. It wasn't everyday that a Major League Baseball player wanted to hang out with you after a game. Gracie got out of Travis' car and looked around at all of the expensive cars in the parking lot surrounding them, feeling out of place.

"Here's me," Christian said quietly, breaking her out of her daze. He was holding the passenger side door of a dark grey Camaro open, causing Gracie to smile.

"And they say chivalry is dead," she hummed, thanking him as she got in the car. "I don't think I've ever been in a car this fancy." Gracie was internally punching herself - such a dumb thing to say.

Christian responded with a soft laugh and closed her door, getting in the driver's side. "What're you thinking for food? I'm game for anything, but Mexican is calling my name."

"What about Botanas? They have great Mexican food and it isn't far from here." Gracie suggested, pulling it up on here phone when she got a nod of approval.

"How long are you in town, Minnesota?" He gently teased, driving to the restaurant.

"The weekend. I go back Monday morning." Gracie sighed, forgetting that nothing could happen because she was only home for three days.

"Then I guess we need to make it count, huh?" Christian gave her a wink and stuck out his tongue, resting his hand on her thigh. "Can we get breakfast tomorrow? It's a night game so I don't have to be there super early. And of course you have tickets."

"Of course we can. And dinner after the game, too, if you're willing." Gracie smiled, putting her hand over his.

"It's a date." He smiled, then blushed, somehow finding a place to park immediately.

"A date." Gracie winked back and got out of the car, putting her coat on and relaxing at his gentle touch on her lower back.

Somehow it all felt so right, which sucked because she knew it was going to be short lived.
