Chapter 8 – Prophecy

Delilah woke up with a start disoriented. She looked around the room not knowing where she was. The white walls were bare. She looked around the room to find some clue about where she was, but was in vain. There was nothing personal in this room. No photos, no mementos, no souvenirs nothing. The furniture was dark mahogany and she sat on a huge king side bed. All she knew was that she was in a man’s room.

She pushed away the blankets and got out of bed. She tried to remember what happened the previous day, she wasn’t sure if it was the next day but it seemed like she had slept for a very long time. Then she remembered about the men with red eyes who attacked her. She didn’t know who they were or why they attacked her, but she had to find out. She walked towards the door and opened it and saw a hand reaching for the door knob.

She gasped and took a step back and looked up to see Zach standing there.

“What are you doing here?” she asked trying to calm her breathing.

“This is my house” Zach said arrogantly.

“Oh! I’m so sorry!” Delilah said she didn’t know what came over her. She was acting so mean, he really brought out all her bad qualities.

“It’s ok. I see you’re alright now. “he looked like he didn’t care either way.

Delilah huffed and said “yes I am! I’ll be leaving immediately.” She said and tried to step to the side.

“no you will not be. You will be staying here for a while.” Zach spit out. He didn’t look like he liked that fact.

“no! I can’t stay here, I have my own house. I want to leave immediately.” Delilah said angrily.

“don’t make this hard! I’m doing you a huge favor.”  He said.

“I don’t want your favor. You’ve humiliated me enough. I want to leave this place.” Delilah said stepping to the left and trying to walk away.

Zach immediately caught hold of her hand and both felt a wave of electric shock go through them. Delilah looked at her hand and then looked up at Zach. Zach immediately dropped her hand like he was burnt.

“You’re staying here Delilah and that’s final.” And he walked away. Delilah stood staring after him not understanding what just happened. The way he said her name had sounded wonderful, she didn’t want it to sound wonderful. She hated these mixed up feeling she had about him.

Zach looked down at his palm where he had caught hold of Delilah’s hand. Her hand had been so soft and small underneath his, small fragile hands. He didn’t want to think about her at all. When he had seen her attacked he couldn’t control himself, his wolf rose to the front wanting to protect it’s mate.

His wolf had kept chanting in his head “kill! Kill! Protect mate.”

But it just wasn’t the wolf it was the man also. When the bastard hit Delilah he had almost let his wolf free. Almost. That was very close.

He shook his head and walked out of his house. People were running around in chaos.

Jason ran up to him and said “Mama Hilda has a prophecy!!! “Looking shocked

“What? There hasn’t been a prophecy for the past years! “Zach said confused.

“But Mama Hilda asked me to tell you it is time for your prophecy.” Jason said.

Zach nodded and walked towards Mama Hilda's cottage. There were people surrounding the cottage and everyone bowed when they saw him.

He opened the door of the cottage and felt an eerie feeling o through him. The cottage was dark with red lights on. He pushed through the curtain and saw Mama Hilda sitting on a chair.

“Come Alpha, it is time.” She said motioning me towards a chair.

He sat down in front of her and immediately the room turned cold, he looked up at Mama Hilda and was shocked to see her eyes. Her eyes were white and he couldn’t see her irises.

She said in a strange voice “Beware you must Alpha. Dark blood will shed from the teeth of an enemy. He is a stranger to the sun but wants the light to your darkness. One may die, the enemy or the fallen one. Beware Alpha."

And suddenly she blinked her eyes back to normal. Zach looked star struck, he didn’t know what to make of this prophecy. He slowly got up and made his way towards his house.

As he walked towards his room he realized he couldn’t go in there, he didn’t want to see Delilah as much as he told himself that he knew it wasn’t true.

He thought about the prophecy again “stranger to the sun” what did that mean? And “one may die the enemy or the fallen one” who was the fallen one?
