Chapter 15 - Everything

"Ok I won't" She finally said sagging in his arms "I won't".

Zach smiled satisfied. He cupped her cheeks in his hand and looked down at her .

"Thank you" he said and swooped down and kissed her hard. She looked up at him and blinked, unable to believe why the sudden change in him. He let her go and took a step back.

"I'll see you soon, I have training to finish." And he walked out.

Delilah stood there trying to make sense of everything that happened. He wanted her to stay with him. He actually wanted her to stay with him, he didn't deny her or make her feel unwanted. He cared.

She walked out of the house and walked towards the back of it. She felt confused and happy, mainly because Zach didn't want her to leave and confused because she didn't know how to handle these feelings in her.

Shouldn't she go back to the skies? Where she actually belonged? But she didn't it was right to go back now even though that is where she belonged. But did she actually belong in a place where they threw her out of? She had to find out why it happened.

She didn't realize how far she had walked until she realized the darkness falling. She had walked into the forest.

Delilah turned and tried to trace back her steps but she didn't know how she had reached here, she calmed herself and tried to think.

She took two steps forward and she suddenly heard a growl and stopped mid step. She stopped and slowly turned back there was nothing. She sighed and turned to go when there stood a man in front of her.

He looked crazed; his eyes had gone completely black. He growled at her, she stood in fear not knowing what to do. She swallowed hard and took a step back, she shouldn't have done it.

He growled savagely and turned into a wolf and attacked. Lilah ran, she ran as fast she could but she couldn't outrun a wolf.

He hit her with such force she went toppling on the ground; a branch pierced her hand letting her blood flow. The sight of blood seemed to enrage the wolf more.

She cried out and tried to scramble away from him. He turned towards her and growled, his mouth pulled back on his teeth and he pounced and Delilah's scream echoed around the forest.

Zach walked around the field giving pointers whenever necessary but his mind was not in the training. It kept wandering to Delilah. He felt at peace with himself after a very long time.

Another man walked up to him and asked him how to do another thing, he sighed and decided to put some concentration into their training.

Just as he turned to show the boy he heard a scream. Delilah's scream. He didn't even have to call upon his wolf, the minute his wolf sensed its mate was in danger it surfaced and he let it.

Whoever dared to lay a finger on her will die. And he jumped and turned mid-air and ran towards the forest from where he had last heard the sound. His heart was pounding in fear, he didn't know what he would do if anything had happened to her.

He increased his pace as he followed her scent. And he ran deeper and deeper into the forest. There in a clearing was Delilah on the ground and the wolf was going to pounce on her.

He snarled and jumped hitting the wolf mid-air and throwing it to the other side. The other wolf snarled tried to bite him. He growled and they circled around the clearing, both of them snarling at each other.

Zach flew at him and bit him on his flank, the other wolf cried out in pain and he tried to bite back, but Zach was stronger he stood over him his paw right over the other wolf's heart. Another move and the wolf would die.

He mind linked the wolf to yield, but Zach knew the wolf wouldn't. Zach didn't have to think twice before ripping out his heart. The wolf had no reason to live anymore.

Zach backed away and slowly turned towards Delilah. She looked small and fragile on the ground. He slowly walked towards her, still in his wolf form.

She looked up at him with stricken eyes, fear shone brightly. She whimpered. He never wanted her to be afraid of him, he would never hurt a hair in her head and would kill anyone else who tried. His gut hurt looking at her. He didn't want her to fear him. He howled and backed away just as Jason placed his clothes next to a tree and backed away quietly.

Zach ran to the clothes and clutched them with his teeth and walked behind the tree and changed into his human form. He still had blood all over him but he had to see to Lilah. He had to make sure himself that she was safe and unhurt.

He walked from behind the tree and stepped towards her. Lilah was still on the ground, her eyes were downcast and unfocused. She shivered and hugged her arms around her rocking back and forth. She was in shock. He hated seeing her like this, he hated that she had to witness the horror of a killing by his hand. He had never wanted her to see this side of him.

He kneeled down next to her and hesitantly touched her hair. She jerked and looked up at him and immediately threw her arms around his neck and started sobbing uncontrollably. He clutched her and held her to him tightly, she wasn't afraid of him he thought with relief.

He rocked her back and forth holding on to her and started running his hand all over her checking for injuries. When he caught hold of her hand she cried out in pain. Zach started shaking as anger took over him and he pulled her against him again. She could have been killed he thought. He wouldn't have been able to save her.

"I've got you now baby." Zach said treading his hand through her hair "you're safe now, I won't let anything happen to you again."

He pulled her head back and kissed her hard, losing himself in her and because he couldn't handle the fear of losing her. She was everything. Everything. 

Delilah looked up at him and caught hold of his collar to make him look down at her.

"Zach, that man, that wolf....what was wrong with him? His eyes were pitch black, he looked crazed." Delilah asked as she shivered again remembering his eyes.

"He didn't even realize what he was doing, it was like he just wanted to hurt me because I was there, he looked I don't know like he had no control, no goal nothing." she murmured.

"My sweet, that is what happens when a werewolf loses his mate." Zach whispered.
